Has anyone with a red car used the yellow protective films on their front headlights. I kind of like the looks but would also be curious to what degree they protect the headlights. Any first hand pics or feedback would be great. I am leaning towards doing this.

Previous owner did mine. I had a hell of a time restoring them to stock after they scuffed them up to make the tint stick.

Pretty sure legally in Virginia this is a big no-no, must have clear headlights.

Thanks for the insight. It is not really tint -that is correct. It's main prurpose it to protect the lights. I was curious if anyone had first hand experience. I do think the yellow would actually look good on the red car too:)

Go for it. I like the look. Doubtful that police would harass you. The last thing Police are looking for on a Ferrari is the headlights. lol

As I said I dont want the tint, but the vinyl for protection more so. I would need to see it in person and am not sure how much more protection it will add.

For the OP, your wish is my command !

I noticed the Yellow Headlights on the GT cars some years ago, but to be honest it didn't click.
Then last last year I payed more attention to it whilst having a surf , and thought, I wonder !

So during my Spring detailing session early this year I thought why not. So off with the Bumper and removed the Headlight Units.
Gave them a good clean up then asked a local vehicle wrapping specialist if he would be happy to wrap them off the car.

He did a super job, and being as the were off the car the wrap went rough round the edges leaving nothing to snag or peal back.

I then used some thin VHB 3M Tape and stuck the Seals in place to prevent the dreaded sagging, then reinstalled the Lights Units
I adjusted the position of the Light Units to get them as high as possible so that 1) they were flush with the body and 2) to ensure the Seals were properly trapped.

Anyway, here you go (apologies for it being a dull day outside !).....................

Does the film actually change the color on the roadway ?
Yellow headlights used to be the way all cars were in France.
Did the HIDs change that ?

You an find a proper full explanation of it if you use good old google, but briefly the yellow lens filters out the blue light and improves vision, or what you can see at night.
The beam colour comes out yellow as you see it, but your eyes pic out more detail - same as using yellow tinted eyewear in low light.

The other reason is reduction of glare for oncoming cars, or cars in front of you. Hence why it is used for endurance racing.
