You are young, and if you don't need the back seats and don't mind (or enjoy) the extra attention, get the real deal. F8 is the title car in Ferrari and is definitely different drive and pleasure from the softer Roma or Portofino. And in same price, and immediate availability...

Will do, Ferrari had fitted gopro's to the cars, I need to edit the films as thay are a bit too long, 17mis of film on the road and 9 on the track, just a bit busy at the moment, but will do as soon as possible.
Ok. Well it sounds better, the best sound to me of the V8's. Looks great from behind, not sure about the front. Good on track, squirmy on normal uneven roads, in auto it would not kick down, I had my foot to the floor at about 35mph, you can see this on the video when I get around to sorting it out, in manual its was fine. Very comfortable, easy to get in and out, I can’t see many people driving it on track but it has the performance to do so, but nothing like as good as the F8 I tested last week. I am not sure what segment it’s aimed for? It looks a bit like you are driving an E type from inside when looking out. Thats a good thing. If it were me, I would buy the Portofino M with the same engine as it is the best of both worlds, but if you want something different then go for this, I am sure you won’t be disappointed. There will be a video but I need time to edit it.
Nice thank you! Odd it did that floored at 35. U sound positive about it. The Portofino to me has a different style less sporty, less modern, not simple lines. Sounds like u know these Ferrari’s well. I like the understatedness of Roma (never seen in person) . Would u say that is true? Is it loud in the cockpit while driving roads?

Been looking thru this thread - well not all 113 pages, so ill ask, what is the list price of the Roma.....is there a price list/options available without going to the dealer?
Is this an 8-speed auto-manual box? I recall reading something similar in regards to the Porto about it not dropping a gear when you accelerate...T
Nitinxsharma, weirdly, as a front engine GT favouring 56 year old, I think you should go for the F8. Because I think mid engine cars are young peoples cars, and you are in a unique position if you can afford one before it become’s too young for you. Nobody is going to accuse you of trying to re-capture your youth, this is your youth ! Secondly don’t worry about basic spec, it’s not a luxury car, its all about performance and visual impact. After a session at Fiorano I came back convinced that In the mid engined cars, basic is best. When you get to my age you can do the luxury GT thing, its worth waiting for. That’s the time to get ticking the option boxes. I also wonder if the Roma’s 1960’s classic front engine “Dolce Vita” style resonates more with my generation than yours. I would welcome your thoughts on that..
I test drove a Roma this morning. It's the first time I had seen the car in the metal and as others have said photographs don't do the design justice. The stance and proportions are perfect IMHO and it looks great on the road. You won't mistake it front or rear for anything else if following one or being chased down by one. I tried a couple of modes on the manetino - Comfort and Sport - and tried both of those in auto and manual with the suspension set for bumpy roads. Ferrari have simplified the control for this as you now only have to press down on the mantino for the softer suspension setting instead of it being on a separate button. The ride comfort over badly surfaced minor roads around the Silverstone circuit was extremely good and the car was very settled with good control of the primary and secondary ride. Mid corner ruts or ridges didn't unsettle it at all. The seats are very comfortable and it feels like it would be very easy to do long stints behind the wheel. I didn't find any issue with the kickdown so perhaps the car Grant tried had a glitch. The cabin noise levels are surprisingly low and it is easy to have a conversation with a passenger. Compared to a modern 911 that suffers from excessive tyre roar from the rear axle, the Roma is calm and relaxed until you unleash that engine and dip into the higher reaches of the rev range when it changes character and becomes the vocal delight you'd hope. The steering wheel mounted hapic controls were easy to use and the large display ahead ofthe driver is very impressive and can be customised to show the info you want. The other controls on the sterring wheel are also easy to operate and the turn signals can now be operated by pushing them front the front or pressing them from the rear. The shift paddles have also been modified so that you only have to pull them very slightly to change up or down and have a very positive action. The build quality on these early examples appeared to be very good. The trunk is a good size with a low loading sill and if combined with the folding seat back option should make the car able to take a decent amount of luggage. My over riding impression is that this is a Ferrari that really can be used as a daily with little compromise and will appeal to a far wider audience. It is some years now since I had a California and I haven't tried the Cali T or Potofino but I suspect this car is simply in a different league to them in terms of the GT like driving experience it offers. My order is going in on Monday. Very encouraging. 7 or 8 speed transmission? Your thoughts on which colors looked best? Seems you had several there. Thank you for the report...T
8 speed. Shifts are very fast. Colour is a very personal thing but for what it’s worth I thought the car suited the lighter metallics as they really show off the curves of the body. I’m going with Argento Nurburgring as it just suits the car so well when paired with the forged diamond finish wheel option.
