You aren't the only one brother, I too have been surprised at the level of hatred, and I'm a Ferrari fan! It gives me no pleasure to see him win, but I don't 'hate' the man. I've just never looked to F1 drivers for moral, ethical guidance. I mean Kimi Himself once popped it out at a club and started pulling a Jonah Hill...just saying...

Now if we're talking about track mentorship....

 

If you don’t understand why many people don’t like him then you can’t understand either why so many people love Kimi. Two sides of the same coin. One is sincerity itself, the other the exact opposite.

For many people like you it does not matter.

I like Kimi, I like Hamilton. I had much higher hopes for the Iceman though.

My ire is reserved only for Vettel and his crap driving for the Gestione Sportiva. To finish first, first you have to finish.

Who cares what clothes LH wears, or what he eats. I only care what he does when he has his racing suit on and is holding the wheel of an F1 car.

Everything else is fake news, including the haters on this forum, the majority of whom couldn't even compete in a club race against a Miata.

 

But not the only plausible explanation.

 

You just forget one thing, he doesn't just drive. He imposes on the enthusiasts of this sport an implication that they do not want in their vast majority. He legitimizes this with his sporting achievement which is properly detestable. I stop there because the banishment is no longer very far..

 

Maybe you should just watch the races and stop reading the Internet. It's not healthy.

Very reasonable as well, and sorry I didn’t acknowledge your answer. I can understand If a person’s personality doesn’t jive with you. Totally fine. You’re not alone obviously. I think every public figure will have their share of detractors as well as admirers.

 

I get it, and nothing wrong for you to not like him for his personal beliefs outside F1. That is not grounds of banishment itself. Makes sense, and I would argue a legitimate reason not to like a driver.

 

I definitely get it. Hamilton can come across as insincere, rehearsed, very careful to say the right thing for his brand, and presents a manufactured image that feels as though it was crafted by a PR team. That's annoying at the best of times, but when it's coming from a driver who is in the dominant F1 car of the era and that car isn't a Ferrari, it's hard to take. I've also struggled with that as a tifoso over the last few years.

Do you realize you’re on the Internet right now? According to your reasoning you would have to know how to play like Mozart to have the right to express an opinion on his music?

 

For me its not a question of hatred towards LH, i dont know him so cannot form a judgement on his personality or character. Posssibly a nice caring person, but I can only look at his actions. We cannot argue that he is one of the best F! racing drivers currently on the scene albeit in one of the best cars on the grid. Bottas is no fool but he is unable to match Hamilton.

The question is, does his success & wealth give him a higher superiority and intelligence over has mere mortals and if we disagree then we are chastised. There are many celebrities who seem to feel we are also dumb idiots, they seem to get caught up and believe they are still on a film set and are invincible. eg a famous hollywood actor preaching the UK government shouldnt break law but was caught with his pants down. !! I guess the word i am looking for is Hypocrisy.

The really sad thing is that without those qualities, his talent would not have been enough.

By choosing to communicate through social networks he made the choice of superficiality and inculture.
