    Great post.

My buddy, who works at Ferrari, wants me to test drive the F8 and I have to tell you I'm about as excited at the idea of that as having my wisdom teeth removed.

Given your rundown above, I'd be real interested in your opinion of the F12 :) I also love the 458 and very much regret selling mine. The 488 left me with a headache every time I drove the thing. Even just driving it home from the dealer (after selling my 458), I knew I had made a terrible mistake. I tried to warm up to the 488 over a 5 month period, but a bad marriage is a bad marriage.

I have test driven the 812 and was very impressed with it. It's a slightly different feeling from the 458 but even with very limited time behind the wheel, I could tell it would be a car I could fall in love with. For me, the real question mark is the F12. Lately, I've been thinking the F12 might be as nice - or maybe even better - than owning the 812.

I have a bad feeling we are going to end up both trying to buy the same F12 one of these days haha :)

I think the 488 will end up being a lot like the 430 was - sort of the odd-ball out, lost between the 360 and the 458, where the only version anyone really cares about is the race version (i.e. the 430 Scuderia). My guess is much the same as yours: the 458 will hold steady, while 488 values continue to slip - and in 5 more years, the only version of the 488 that anyone ever mentions will be the 488 Pista.

I'd agree with you on that Ray. Particularly your last sentence.

Haha. Then lucky i didn't get one with black calipers or i'd never get rid of it!! Anyway calipers are easily painted on or off the car so even if someone chooses boring old black or silver it's fixable. ;)

You may be right. I have 2 red F cars now and found a few great F12’s but all in red, so I passed. Ideally I find one in Grigio, or other grays with racing seats.

Spot on! I also know plenty of guys that miss the instant throttle response and the absolute eye candy of a motor in the rear. However, to each his own!

I took the Pista out today through some back roads, I dont think I could settle for less power. After having a couple 720's and the Pista everything feels slow. Perhaps when I get older I will change my mind but for now that acceleration in intoxicating. It is also incredibly planted with warm tires. Such a blast to rip around in. Oh and the sound is pretty darn good stock, it definitely gets better with miles but I am still counting down the days until my Kline gets here.

I love my 430 spider... sniff sniff. [emoji3]. In all seriousness, it’s my first Ferrari, and just perfect for me, analog and all. Plus, for me, the complete rear glass over the engine never gets old. I sure wish they could’ve kept it the same on the 458 spider, but I understand why given the hard top roof.

All that said, when I get tired of this car, for all of the reasons mentioned here, I will definitely be getting the 458…. Ever since it first out, I was hooked on that triple exhaust!

I am still the process of finding just the right sound for the Pista that I like. You just have to accept that your turbo Ferrari sounds different. If you enjoy that difference, then you will love the F8.

In an unrelated, but gratifying decision, I ended up getting a GTC4Lusso V12 as a daily beater. I have been using a 570S as a daily, but having two turbo V8s in the garage felt a bit like I was wasting an opportunity to try something else. The Pista is the highest factory horsepower to weight vehicle I've ever owned, and the Lusso will undoubtably be the best sounding car I've ever owned. It's up there with the Speciale.

As a former owner of an F12, and current owner of an 812, about the only thing the F12 does better is fill your account up with an extra $150,000. That’s really it. Here’s a lengthy review I did comparing the two cars: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/146674449/

I test drove a Lusso 8 months ago, I was dead set on it. The car threw massive electrical faults during the test drive due to low battery so I didn’t buy. I wish I did. GS with Red interior.

So glad you’re really enjoying yours!

There is always a last of this and a last of that.
There was stick. Than NA. Now non hybrid?
Next might me non autonomous. Before it was carburator...
I like the rawness (if you can call it like that) and the price tag of my FF. I'm looking closely at F8 or 458 or 430scud myself but most likely stick to what I have. Gras is always greener on the other side. My personal holy grail is 458 speciale but not for twice the price of an 458. At the end of the day, in terms of bucks per fun that would be my call.
