It's never an "upward roll form here on" for anything.

I'm sorry but some of these comment sound really naive.

I'm still learning the market. How does the ferrari crowd view F1 to manual conversions? I'm an air cooled porsche and oddly, a toyota supra guy. Both of these groups appreciate trans swaps as drivers, but they do not bring close to the same value as the real deal. I get that the F1 trans IS the manual gear box, but its not "correct". Does it drive a value difference here?

I think it does. Maybe 10-15% less.

It has been shown that most Ferrari buyers will always want as close to an oem car as possible unless there is a mechanical issue an aftermarket part is taking care of - like 355 headers or radiators. On conversions, most will get slightly less than an oem stick all things equal but if it has all the oem parts to be able to convert it back, not sure it’s looked down upon. For cars with very few sticks like the 430 or 599, a conversion is worth more than the F1 but less than the oem stick.

but for the 355 where there were plenty of manuals, it’s really up to the buyer to make that call. But I’d rather buy a conversion or F1 in a cool color combo with excellent maint than a red / tan stick that hasn’t been maintained well...

Sometimes the best cars aren't for sale- if you like somebody's car ask them if they would consider selling it...
(Just an idea that once worked for me) ;) Go to a car show and go shopping!

I think it was roughly 5 years ago some of us wouldn't let go of our 355's for a penny under $300k :)

I don’t remember my 355’s commanding that number 5 years ago, but they were going up and I almost doubled my money on my yellow car. I can tell you my number on the blue car is currently at 125 based on purchase price and work into it, and will be climbing each year.

I thought Rob’s Nero Daytona berlinetta was eyebrow raising sold at 140k last year but market is def moving higher to support that...

Get them soon or forever hold your peace.

No the price never got that high, but the exuberance was certainly there lol. I bet I could pull up old quotes :).

My Nero is tucked away with new owner. But his number will be $200 plus when the time comes if ever. He has $150k in it. Spent money on top of money. Had it ceramic coated, then clear wrapped and then had perfect, perfect wheels cotes with some special sauce. I heard the bill was $9500 for all that!?!?

Personally, should have never clear wrapped. But every square inch is protected. Too each his own. Not sure it will ever come out of its nest?? But 8500 miles and gated GTB with colors and factory Rollbar May command it.

    I am building a turbo e28 for now [emoji41]
