Just a thought, do you not think the OP has made this decision now? He asked the question in January

The fun is top down, windows up, music up, manettino set to sport or race.

Anyhow... Just took delivery of my F8 with the JBL and in my view.... it’s sounds pretty damn good. Worth it for me.

The system in my Jeep Wrangler sounds better than the Ferrari JBL unit but the base system is so horrific you have no choice but to order it especially now since Ferrari engines have gotten quieter you need something to listen to.I have Apple CarPlay and is almost worthless since there is no touchscreen. I use only for Waze so I don’t have to look down on my phone.
I have had 2 cars with the lift and one without and it comes in handy for deep ramps and those massive speed bumps in parking lots.

It is a deal breaker for me.
Personally I would never consider a car without the lift and upgraded audio. I’m not spending 300k for a car and then having to take it to the audio shop. My driveway has a curb and the lift is needed.

Ditto! My driveway requires Mt. Everest climbing gear to summit, so a lift is mandatory. I’ve never heard the standard Ferrari audio, but I love my upgraded JBL system.

(It’s not up to the uber upgraded Burmester system in my SonderKlasse Benz, but I don’t really care...)

It’s just the ticket when the Ferrari engine “music” is muted in mind numbing, soul draining stop and go traffic and occasionally at other times (very long drives) as well. [emoji2]

    Cheers!

In my experience I would skip the audio upgrade but get the lift. Just my $.02.

I find it tragically funny. Jeep Wrangler sound system being better than best Ferrari option... However, I am with you.... But I also agree with the mediocrity of the base system. So you are basically forced to spend a few K's more for an average sound system.

Should we create an "Action now" movement and collect signatures to demand Ferrari to select a decent sound system that is worth the money paid? Good luck...

Been driving my F8 easily around town following the break in procedure so I’ve now had ample time to setup and listen to the JBL HiFi system in the car. I didn’t mess with the settings other to enable “ Quantum Logic”, and I say again it sounds pretty good to me and personally it was well worth it. Based on previous feedback I though for sure I’d be bringing the car to my audio guy to improve the system, but no need- I’m perfectly satisfied with it.

Well Rob... I am glad that is the case, because I am another "sucker" that got the upgraded system avoiding the mediocre standard stereo. Thanks for giving me hope. I am also very happy you're enjoying your F8. Making me anxious and looking forward to getting mine.

    Thanks for sharing!

spending 300-400k for a car and saving a few bucks for a feature directly related to experience.

guys, don't be stingy. upgraded stereo is always a must. even if you say the best sound comes from the engine.

i wish there would be an upgraded stereo 'plus' with proper amps and speakers. would be willing to pay 15k extra for it. much better than having some unknown car repairshop using your ferrari as a guinea pig.

top down + music is one of the best experiences with those cars.

The stinginess in the Ferrari camp is massive. Truth is most of these options should be in as minimum std equip in this car but because they aren't and they cost money to put in it's easier to spend hours on forums justifying why they aren't needed rather than facing the reality.

I had the lift and the JBL system on my 458. When I ordered my F8, I ordered the lift but not the JBL. The base stereo is okay, but lacking in base. I ordered a subwoofer from scuderiaaudio.com which is awesome. I'm likely to order the upgrade for door speakers and tweeters next. Lift is an absolute must. I live in Hawaii where we have a lot of steep driveway approaches.
