Would need a bit more info I suppose as it's stated to have stepped primaries. (so either 1 5/8 and not stepped or 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 or?)
Maybe you are supposed to cut out the section between the ports. Maybe it's just there for assembly and welding.
To be honest, pics on the site look CGI to me lol. I should have the real thing in my hands in about a month . Will get you measurements.
I agree, none of them look like real photos, just thought even in the design phase they would bolt on
So... I just swindled myself into getting a FULL Larini exhaust system. Headers, custom Y-Pipe (yes... not even on their site), straight pipes, and custom GT2 muffler. All Inconel shielded. I can’t wait to see it all in person .
Just keep in mind the prices are MSRP on Larinis site. You can get them through Top End Motorsports who is a sponsor on this site. It’s about $4300 USD before shipping and import fees through them.
It’s only the shielding that is Inconel. The pipes are 316 SS. These guys come off as fairly bespoke. I bet they could build in 321 SS and Inconel shielding for more. I just didn’t dare ask
Guys, what's the verdict? which are the best? Tubistyle? Does anyone have a photo without a thermal shield? The manufacture says that there are no such photos ....
it seems that the consensus is that Tube style is the "best". Other much more experienced will likely chime in soon. Many are happy with other (Nouvulari, FabSpeed, etc.) but perhaps the sound changes? Depends on the whole exhaust/cat etc set-up as well? I have never seen a picture without shields of the Tube - again others will likely chime in.
for me, the best one is one that is on the market for a long time and does not generate problems. Those that are ceramic coated after some time generate more heat, which causes many complications in these cars, those that are wrapped with thermal tape generate even more problems because the tape bursts over time and starts to dust, as a result of which the first alternator breaks down. I believe that the only ones worth mentioning are Tubistyle and maybe Larini, the problem is that Larini with this product is on the market for a short time. I would love to see both products without thermal insulation
Tubi’s are very nice. The Larini’s look to be very nicely made as well. I like their take on the header shielding. Ken should be getting his Larini headers in the near future, so he can give you his impression. The Larini’s are made with 316 ss and Tubi’s are made 304 ss.
316 stainless steel contains about 2 to 3 percent molybdenum, which increases corrosion resistance, especially when associated with chlorides and other industrial solvents...... so I would say not big deal.
