I enjoyed racing my Elfin Mono and the BT21C ,easy times no crew just my wife ,racing friends and the pub at night ...great times ..so glad i did it .
Where as the Porsche and the 2x Mustangs needed a crew to help.

Where as the poor old Lola had few events to race in ..

Skill ,road racing is different to running around a clock in a lap dash

 

Ian have driven any group M/O racing cars , there sweet to drive .All the Brabhams make for great race cars ...BT14,16,18,21s wonderful cars .And the Elfin 600s

 

As Michael Schumacher said once when queried about the best driver in the world , "the best driver in the world is out there but we have never seen him"

I'm (slowly) restoring a pair of Chevron S2000 cars. S2000's are a very active group, lots of great blokes and great racing.

 

He was a great skier. He made the mistake of attaching a camera to his helmet, which is why it split and he got the brain injury.

One would see so many cars damaged and flipped at lap dash days ,guys dressed up in racing suits that just lacked skill..I could never be bothered ,I'd prefer to take to the hillclimbs in a jumper and get FTD .

Last weekend in the karts racing some dude I don't know was brilliant, waiting for one of us to stuff up, switching left and right, feigning an overtake to get a reaction

Could have only been better in a formula car on a real racetrack

Thankyou Peter, It’ll be fun, I’ll just potter around, I’ve no intention to boil brake fluid or ruin a perfectly good set of tyres for an afternoon’s romp around eastern creek [emoji12]

 

I only have one tip ..... drive slowly for the first few laps learning the lines and slowly ease the speed up .... not like Horse who just goes mad

Oh, and bleed the brakes properly before you go

Fuch the tyre pressures, anything is good, don't listen to these wankers

Here's how you do a tyre check :

1. Are they black ? (BTM )
2. Are they round ? (D shaped is not good)
3. kick them - if they hurt they are too high, if they move they are too low
4. Are the R spec ? (are you serious ?)

Have fun mate and if you bring the car back in the same shape it went there you have done well
