Although not fast cars by Group R. I enjoyed racing my Elfin Mono and the BT21C ,easy times no crew just my wife ,racing friends and the pub at night ...great times ..so glad i did it . Where as the Porsche and the 2x Mustangs needed a crew to help. Where as the poor old Lola had few events to race in .. As Michael Schumacher said once when queried about the best driver in the world , "the best driver in the world is out there but we have never seen him" Nice comment from probably the best driver of all time ..... sad he's a terrible skier
I'm (slowly) restoring a pair of Chevron S2000 cars. S2000's are a very active group, lots of great blokes and great racing.
He was a great skier. He made the mistake of attaching a camera to his helmet, which is why it split and he got the brain injury.
No i said that "the best driver is the kid hooning around Dandenong on a Friday night in his VH Commodore" BTC quote
One would see so many cars damaged and flipped at lap dash days ,guys dressed up in racing suits that just lacked skill..I could never be bothered ,I'd prefer to take to the hillclimbs in a jumper and get FTD . Image Unavailable, Please Login
https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/147489977/ No mention Giovanni is hopeless ....... one day I will turn up and beat him on the track doing "lap/dash wanker" stuff If I had the money and time to go racing I would . Last weekend in the karts racing some dude I don't know was brilliant, waiting for one of us to stuff up, switching left and right, feigning an overtake to get a reaction Could have only been better in a formula car on a real racetrack
FFS that car loved me driving it Remember chasing Bill and Noela down the alpine way ? That was fun but you made me back off because Bill would be getting into trouble for driving that fast BTW what award did the black jag get ?
very private award ,prefer to keep it to myself .. have a drive now its even better with the Avons and other changes .. Its a real BTC car. All set to go for whenever we are let out of prison .. BTC here I am in Robe South Australia enjoying fine dinning.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thankyou Peter, It’ll be fun, I’ll just potter around, I’ve no intention to boil brake fluid or ruin a perfectly good set of tyres for an afternoon’s romp around eastern creek [emoji12]
I only have one tip ..... drive slowly for the first few laps learning the lines and slowly ease the speed up .... not like Horse who just goes mad Oh, and bleed the brakes properly before you go Fuch the tyre pressures, anything is good, don't listen to these wankers Here's how you do a tyre check : 1. Are they black ? (BTM ) 2. Are they round ? (D shaped is not good) 3. kick them - if they hurt they are too high, if they move they are too low 4. Are the R spec ? (are you serious ?) Have fun mate and if you bring the car back in the same shape it went there you have done well
Thanks John I will try very hard not to crash, Ethan will be my wingman so things could get a bit hairy [emoji849]at the end of the day my car will sound way better than all that new stuff [emoji12]
