Not sure how many of these were produced. It comes in a metal case with a CD, an accordion folding mini book, a replica 250 LM Brochure and an additional booklet. Anyone seen one of these? I only saw one for sale many years ago, but nothing shows up on Google or EBay. Everything is in Japanese. So not much help there.
Cant remember when they first came out, but I thought it was the late '70's. Is that true?

Not '70's. Much later, will take a look if i can find any dates on it and come back to this.

Thanks. I looked at the original ads, and in very tiny print at the bottom some are dated 6/90, 7/90, etc. So they must be from the mid to early '90's.

The CD was first released to the public in October of 1982. Thus, it could not be 70s. Either way, this is a really really fabulous presentation and fascinating set. Thank you for sharing.

I think the '90's are more accurate. Love those period add's btw!

Thanks. I agree, it's one of the most unusual pieces of Ferrari memorabilia. The presentation is beyond reproach, and the metal box is so cool.

This gorgeous piece has been posted before. I noted down the code 'FE00022868' and that a good search term had been 'Festina Lente 250 Le Mans', but I didn't find a publication date (all signs suggest mid 90s) or quantity. They are numbered, I believe, with a 3 digit serial.

I'd given up looking for a copy and now I want to go hunting again, thanks for that!

Found a note with my book referring to issue 13 of the UK magazine 'Ferrari World'. July/August 1991. They did a bookreview on this book. See picture from the page. So, publication date should be early 1991. Only question left, how many are printed.

Ok, so the 3 digit number '211' inside is not a booknr. There are differences in the nr. on the outside of the box. Can't make anything from it unfortunately.

Hi John, sorry but i meant the numbers don't make any sence to me... Your picture was perfect clear. If they would just have numbered them 01/** it would be easier.

Oh, no worries. I thought you were unable to read it.
If they would have numbered them, that would indeed made it much easier to figure out.
If there are any out there that can read Japanese, I can photograph the original ads.

I think you can assume the last three digits of the "autotelaio" are actually the number of the edition you have. So, in this case 072. The other picture above shows number 030.

The plate below the CD is a facsimile chassis plate of 250 LM s/n 5903.

My uncle has this and if I remember correctly he said it was done for the Ferrari Club of Japan to commemorate the 250LM. Hopefully that is correct information!

Yes, although having to go and pick it up from Indiana might make a difference to the price. It isn't clear from the very sparse lot details why it couldn't be posted if required.

I can't imagine why it couldn't be mailed.
