The problem I have with Daylight Savings Time is that while it indeed offers us a bit of extra sunlight, it doesn't really affect us because we can simply adjust our watch.

Nature doesn't have this ability, so things can get pretty screwed up by messing with the time.

Case in point: When they start setting the clock back, tree leaves begin falling, yada yada. The trees get out of balance due to the changing of the time, which we do to suit ourselves.

With all the talk about going green, slowing global warming, etc., it seems the best place to start is to quit messing with the time.

That's why I opened my own Otis Spunkmeyer franchise.

That's a pretty sweet business. My dad used to live kitty corner to Mrs. Fields in Park City.

BTW, if you head over to Townsend, TN to your rental place consider coming down to Canton, GA for a visit. This place is awesome, and offers tons of places to get good use of your Trail Rated SUV.

It might be best to wait until we get off DST so that you can enjoy nature without the imbalances caused by DST.

    :)

How many RC aircraft fit in the jeep? Do more fit after the crashes?

Good one! Maybe you can make a card for that!!!

Maybe the Dr has a bad reaction to Daylight Savings Time. He could be suffering from homo-sapial-chlorophyll crossover syndrome. Unfortunately, there is no treatment and no cure. Like tree roots, the syndrome tends to grow over time.

Your grand kids can demand reparations down the road, lol.

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I was told that it is trail rated and that it would be amazing at getting me on my favorite trails as well as going to Moab. I got home and was going through the paperwork (You know how you just start signing stuff they put in front of you in the finance office...) I can't find any paperwork that tells me it is trail rated. Should there be a certificate or something? I asked the rangers office at our local state park and he said I should have my "Trail Rated" certificate to go on the off-road trails in the park.

They are starting to trail rate more cars now. I saw a trail rated Pontiac Aztec last night at ihop with the badge.

As I sit here at the top of the mountain, I am looking out on all the trees that have just finished suffering through yet another season of DST. It is a real shame. Not coincidentally, our clock stopped working in the living room and I had to replace a battery. I am sure it is because the clock uses extra power to accelerate the daylight during DST. When will man learn?

I bought a Tacoma three years ago, even though it is not trail rated. I dob't intend to go too far off road, so it should be fine. Bought it during the December to remember, I think.

    :D

I have no particular issue with DST other than the fact that it kinda screws with nature. It’s obviously not just coincidence that all of the leaves fall off the trees right after they set the stupid clocks back. Where is the outcry from the green new deal folk?

To add to the leaves discussion, where do all the leaves go? I mean, we have about 60-80 feet of leaves fall EVERY year, and sometime during the winter I guess they all get taken away somewhere. I just can't imagine where they all go.

they have to be eventually hauled away and put in the dump, and we are using up more and more dirt to bury them, adding to our current shortage of dirt.

I suppose the hole where the dirt is taken from will also cause an imbalance in the water table. What do we think we are doing here? As I look out the window I can see the leaves trying to hang on, knowing that their demise is on the horizon.

yep. just wait till they feel the effects of DST - you won't have any leaves left.
