Seriously - when brothels were first legalised here everyone thought they would be goldmines and this lady (as I mentioned) was used to managing large businesses (ie a hospital) and so bought in, the licenses were very hard to obtain, they were trying hard to keep the crooks out (remember this was not long after the Moonlight State era). She flipped it after a couple of years.
I think you’ll find brothels are a cesspit of cash , drugs and misery...That’s why most underworld figures own them....

I think you’re missing the bit that we are talking about LEGAL ie licensed brothels, and the whole point of bringing in the licensing was so that ‘underworld’ figures don’t own them; the paperwork to qualify the ownership is not insignificant.
He was a old fruiterer, has passed on now. Loved his cars and his women, second one got him in to a bit of bother numerous times, and pretty much cost him his fortune.
