Progress! The dealer set up my OnStar account and now I can track where my car is in real time. Right now its still in Maryland. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you going to Xpel it, and if yes, how much of the car ? My car partner thinks it is overkill on a $80k car to spend $2-6k on protection when it can be painted later if needed. I'm thinking the front end, fenders, and lower sills.
I really like the orange seat belts with the gray interior. Had never thought about that route to get around all the upsells to get a tan interior.
Yes I'll do it in Vegas. I don't do the entire car. Its not worth it. I do the front bumper, the hood, the front fenders, the rocker panel and the mirrors. This time I'm going to do the rear bumper as I'm tired of idiots running into the back of me. I also will do the ceramic film for the windows to cut down the UV and Infrared. I target about $3500. After that maybe Ceramic coating. Not sure yet. If you do ceramic coating you have to do it AFTER paint protection, not before.
I wanted a stripe to jazz up the silver paint but I didn't want it to dominate the shape which I think bold stripes do. You end up looking at the stripe first and the car shape second. So I chose a subtle silver on silver stripe. I'm still curious what it looks like. If it looks like a mistake I can peal it up but right now I think its going to be pretty cool. It was a $995 gamble. So far, I'm happy but I haven't see it in person yet. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I cover my daily drivers with plastic completely. Then I don't worry about cleaning them all the time. Bugs that get smashed on the paint release some corrosive digestive enzymes and it eats clear coat and paint. I've got two C6 cars that I drive daily and they are both covered and this really makes driving them a lot more worry free.
One of the guys on a C8 site posted pix of his garage. Couldn’t resist posting them. Now THAT’S a serious garage. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually this is the idea behind the Tesla Cybertruck. All of them will be stainless steel with no paint. Musk says people will decorate them as they like with wraps. It saves on the cost of the vehicle as he says a good chuck of money is spent in the painting and prep of the vehicle. Stainless needs no rust protection. I think he's right. Every Cybertruck going down the road will be different.
It would look a lot better in Las Vegas! Still hasn't been shipped yet as far as I can tell. I received the black floor mats from Llyosds yesterday. I think addition of them will make things pop a bit more.
GOT THE WORD TODAY! The car was picked up on Saturday and will be in Las Vegas by Thursday or Friday. Its dropping off several cars along the way including 2 in Arizona. Then its my turn. I should have it by this weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Beautiful! Really need a full review, interested to read your thoughts. Still can’t figure out why it’s taking GM over a year to get these thing delivered. Best of luck with her.
