Getting the 599 Ready For Next Year

My 599 stays in Europe all year. Its kept in storage in the South of France and usually used during June, July and August. Next year, COVID permitting, I’ll be using her during the dates of the Monaco Grand Prix too. While I am away this year I’ve had the supercar storage center I use do a few jobs on the car so I thought I’d share a few photos for your entertainment. Some before, after and during shots. Some plastics repaired (dreaded sticky or scratched), rear parcel shelf sticky strips repaired and a full car polish & 5 coat ceramic nano coating.

what aspects are you going to look at hawkeye?

 

The car storage center I use has a specialist in France that does the sticky repairs. In my case those parts weren’t sticky, instead they were severely scratched or just shabby as per photos. The part that is sticky is the hvac panel, but after much research the jury is still out as to exactly how that panel is removed. Some have said its just two screws, however, these screws seem elusive. Others have said it entails the removal of the whole center console, which I refuse to allow. My Hvac isn’t that bad but its very sticky and I have to move the dials with extreme car so as not to touch it.

i had all the central driver area buttons replaced previously, it wasn’t very expensive. I bought the reverse rubber button boot on ebay and it looks/feels stock. The others are oem ferrari. I would be grateful if you could run me through how you remove the hvac panel. I’ve started threads on here to no avail and I told my mechanic to stop when he suggested investigating by removing (first...) the center console. I will leave my HVAC as is for now. I haven’t physically seen the car since the work was done but I did a 3 coat ceramic on my Porsche Cayenne and the results are pretty incredible. Firstly you have the depth of shine. Lastly the car seems to clean itself, since when it rains the water pools and takes all the dirt/dust with it. I paid 2k euros for 5 coats on the Ferrari which took 3 days.
