My shocks may be on their way out (or it may just be the upper strut mounts.

What are my best options and approximate part prices? Can I upgrade to the sport suspension kit for a reasonable price? Anyone know the part number(s) for that kit?

My car is 2006 with standard suspension.

    Thanks!

Jason- Those shocks are very, very tough, so I doubt there is anything wrong with them. On the 575M, we have only seen one or two examples of the Sachs shocks leaking, and they do not have the Bilstein propensity to wear out. Unfortunately nobody is rebuilding them that we have found. Check geometry, especially ride height, since if too low, that makes the shocks feel like they are not working properly. Engine and transaxle mounts being worn can give similar sensations.

Thanks Taz. DO you see the upper rubber strut mounts wearing out on them at all?

I think I have a rebuilder if needed on the shocks. I will share the details when I get them.

Jason- Not unless she has seen very hard service. The hyperblocks seem to hold up pretty well from what I have read. I really doubt your shocks are the problem, but would be interested in knowing who the rebuilder is. Rod at Delta Vee was not doing them last time I checked.

Perhaps the independent Ferrari guy I drove with though my shocks were a bit loud but it could just be that he isn't accustomed to the 20" 599 rims on that car with the low profile tires.

    Thread revival...

I just picked up a 28k mile 2008 612 and have a noisy and rough ride over small bumps/cracks in the road. I feel like I may be in need of replacing some of the wearable suspension parts rather than the shocks.

Does anyone have an idea of how big a job that is in terms of man hours and parts cost?

    Thanks in advance

Thank you. Somehow I missed that in my search.

It looks pretty straightforward. I am just researching exactly this and came across the following video referenced from the Ricambi site. Looks like Hill Engineering supplies kits with parts, tools, glue and everything.

Although this is 430 I believe 612 is exactly the same.

    All,

Thanks for your feedback a couple months ago on my 612 suspension. I just had the upper and lower ball joints replaced with Hill parts and I still have issues, primarily over low speed bumps where the ride is rough and the suspension is loud.

I'm exploring if shock mounts are the culprit but does anyone have updated feedback on whether shocks are being rebuilt anywhere?

There’s a place in the Netherlands rebuilding them. I spoke to them about it last summer, but the cost was pretty high. They apparently had to develop some of their own tooling and methods to take the shocks apart. I think the issue is that there isn’t an external charge port, but some specialists can add one.

Has anyone here tried replacing your dampers and rear ARB with HGTS/C parts? How was the ride?
