And they're just figuring this out now? Why do I think that this cutting the weekend down to two days is part of F1's looking for ways to cut cost next season. Two day tickets at 4 day prices, with 30% less expenses. Add a few more countries to the schedule with more back to back weekends...make it more like baseball...lots and lots of games.
I think the 2-day GP weekend is tested at the suggestion of the teams. First, some drivers have complained there is too much practice time. Second, one day later at the track give more rest time for the staff between races Third, it saves on engine hours.
