In the 90s as a kid I used to get my parents to take me to all the dealerships in south Florida to check out the cars (The Collection, Champion Audi Porsche, etc). I never had a bad experience and they all knew we were just there to see and not buy. Ferrari of Central Florida was also super friendly, too. I haven't been to any of them in 15+ years but I doubt things have changed and it looks to be true based on what you guys are saying here about FL dealers.
Strange story. Funny how things have changed. In 1985 I walked into Bob Sharp Ferrari in torn jeans and a flannel shirt with hair down to my shoulders. A salesman approached me and asked if he could help me. I said I wanted to buy a car. He said, Datsun or Ferrari, as Bob Sharp sold both at the time. I replied Ferrari. He then showed me all the (used) cars on the floor and when I said none appealed to me he took me into the shop area and showed me a 308 GTB. I asked it it was for sale. He said no. So we sat down and negotiated a (below list) price for a new 85 308 GTB, if they could locate one. 2 months later I took delivery from Stan Nowak and after a tour of the shop and the Paul Newman racing Datsun Z cars, I drove home in my new Ferrari, as seen in my avatar. Still have that car today.
So true. I’ll be hanging around Ferrari of Tampa on a Saturday and some family with young boys will come in (pre-Covid) clearly tourists and/or young car-crazy kids being indulged (though secretly it is for Dad ) and the salespeople will invariably break off conversation and ask if they need help, offer water, allow them to take pictures, even allow kids to sit in dealer cars for pix (including an Enzo...kid’s name was Enzo).
I wasn't thinking about your reply overall. I was thinking about the image of the 20yo buying lambo and not getting it or those Karens.
Probably in the car... Please check owner history of any car, particularly Ferrari you may be considering to buy. Somebody's bare butt may have sat in that beautiful leather seat!
Oh and please, don't test by scratch and sniff! There are other less risky and harmful ways... It may not precisely smell like the Ferrari leather we all love.
It depends on who's assing... Oh did I (intentionally) forget a k in that word? For some it may be more valuable.
Do you need such a light to see skid marks? I think any smell deviating from natural and famously renowned Ferrari leather scent should raise concern to check owner history. If you see a name that is familiar in this forum, I strongly advise you to steer clear from it. 12 feet distance between you and such vehicle. Double your distance than for COVID.
