My dealer could have sold more than they were allocated. Not sure what your information source is to cast such doubt on the car’s demand. Apparently there are 764 other blind and fiscally irresponsible car enthusiasts out there somewhere (a few on here even it seems).
We’ll never know the truth and history is not on Macca’s side when it comes to judging demand/request even for such small runs. Best indicator will be how much they re-sell for. There’s already a few on the net but no prices yet obviously.
I'd say not. Noone1 made far more sense than Mr "ounds" has managed to demonstrate to date and that's saying something. "Ounds" just makes a lot of senseless guesses vs Noone1 who was usually well read on the subject matter...and could put up a decent fight at least. If Ounds wants to take on a user like Noone3 he will have to apply for an apprenticeship under Noone1 and get more qualified. At the moment he seems to only open his mouth to change feet.
a matter of opinion/taste, to some women you can also look ugly and unatractive and to some men fabulous and delicious.
The Mclaren bashing is brutallyyyy dumb. They’ve been making their own super car for 8 years now. They’ve made some missteps, but also had some major moments.
Mclaren does not make " pretty cars". They manufacture high end super cars whose form follows function. Many find their cars visually appealing while others may not. Constantly pushing a highly subjective narrative as if it represents fact is tantamount to engaging in gaslighting. Your viewpoint is simply that and nothing more and your repetitive posts will never have the effect of transforming it to an objective truth.
The fact that Mclaren is mentioned so often on Fchat is telling to how popular they are to us car enthusiasts.
And what a threat McLaren is to those Ferrari owners who are (1) insecure or (2) myopic or (3) punch drunk on Fiorano and Maranello Kool-Aid. Or all three.
Read a post a few pages back talking about how a Pista is sharp and scintillating and the F8 is a gentleman’s GT. I own both and that is a far from adequate conclusion about the differences between the two. I really think the key driving difference between the two comes to the driver through the steering, even more than, surprisingly, the throttle. This means steering, geometry, suspension, chassis tuning. You notice it immediately. The Pista has a heft to it compared with the F8. In fact, it renders the Pista less immediately ‘sharp’ feeling than the F8. Purposeful is a better description. The Pista’s sharpness comes when you’re really pushing more into its limits; on fast roads where you can really feel the car weight up and with lots of energy or at the track. You need the energy to get the Pista to come alive because it has very deep levels of ability, at least it feels like that’s what’s going on. The F8 feels more alive quicker. At 8/10ths pace (yours not the car’s) on the road, the F8 is scintillating. It dances where the Pista tracks. The F8 has some of the playfulness of the Speciale, whereas the Pista is all business. But, though I haven’t taken it to the track like I have the Pista, I know that it won’t feel quite as at home there as the Pista does. Pista is awesome on track. Up with 2RS, though both are a different experience on track. Which is more special? It has to be the Pista, but that’s not to say the F8 isn’t wonderful. The Pista is clearly more track-derived and since it’s racing-fanatic-Ferrari we’re talking about, that’s enough. It is the more ultimately capable car and in the context of being Ferrari’s most powerful mid-engined V8, that’s why it is special. Would an F8 Pista, presumably more powerful, render the Pista less special? Probably. But I doubt they will do it. The Pista doesn’t render the Speciale less special, simply because of the change of engine and completely different character. I have a Speciale too and I don’t really think the two cars are very similar at all. I do think a more capable and powerful F8 Pista would cast the 488 Pista more in the role of 430 Scuderia - not as loved (or debatably talented) as the Speciale, not as raw or as ‘original’ as the CS. Neither do I think the Pista and the F8 are very similar. Especially considering they share the same basic shape, weight distribution, engine and platform. They both have a very different character, but the F8 is not a ‘toned down gentleman’s version of the Pista’. The differences are much wider than that, although the F8 has more sound deadening in its wheel arches (but even the Pista itself is not exactly raw, like a CS for instance). The personalities of both cars are as different from each other as the Pista is from the Speciale, naturally aspirated engine and all.
For the most part Ferrari owners or Lambo owners for that matter appreciate what Mclaren is doing. Very few seem to be against the brand - that is mostly trolls who aren't prospective buyers for any of these cars. People who know, know.
Exactly. You have text book trolls like ounds who dont own anything, gets blind drunk on the Ferrari Koolaid and then goes trolling about rubbishing everything else at every given opportunity and then you have the rusted on F car Koolaid drinkers who rubbish anything else which threatens their fragile position. It’s pretty standard behaviour on the forums from what i can see.
It’s as if these people are on the Ferrari payroll. Why do they care so much about a brand that would throw them under the bus in a heartbeat. Not just Ferrari, any brand would.
Not sure what it is but i suspect theres a lot of elitism involved to where its become a dignity issue that another brand can enter the fray and beat the beloved prancing horse at their own game so easily.
My philosophy has been to establish a sufficient relationship with all of the 3 super car dealers - Lamborghini , Ferrari and McLaren, so that all will gladly sell me a new car. I then feel free to purchase whichever model that strikes my fancy. In the last 3 years I have owned 3 Lamborghinis, F8 and have the 765LT being delivered in April. I am on very friendly terms with all of them. My Lamborghini dealer has in the last couple of months offered me weekend test drives of the EVO RWD and the Urus. Ferrari has graciously contacted me to take the F8 spider for a few hours drive. When it comes to cars I have a chronic case of wunderlust and the dealers are well aware of it.
...or one that sounds as good as a 458...BOOM!....thank you, thank you, here all week, try the veal, tip your waitress she is working hard...good night y’all....
