Time for new rubber. Want something to quiet the ride on my 456 that will have 18” 550 wheels soon. It has bridgestones now, but they are aged out. Looks like the main players are Mickey Thompson, Bridgestone, Toyo, Michelin, nitto.

If you want a lot of grip for a low price, Toyo is a good option (255/35 & 305/35). They are not quiet tires.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is the only tire worth using.

They only do this at 19" and up AFAIK so they won't fit a standard 550 wheel (18")

My choice would be it's predecessor which I run on my SL - Pilot SuperSport. It has absolutely transformed my SL after I had it remapped.

    Hi Alan

I contacted Michelin UK a while ago and they confirmed not available for the standard 550 wheel - annoying as would be my choice as well.

They said no future plans, perhaps we can lobby them, it is available in other markets.
    Cheers

Michelin MPSS tires are nearly as good as the MPS4S and are available in 255/40 18 and 295/35 18.

I had MPSS on my 550 and have them on my 575. Great tyres. Not as noisy as P Zeros.

Black is subjective but round is an absolute and Michelin comes closer to being absolutely round than many others I've tried.

As I live in the NE and plan on driving my 550 as long as possible into the cold weather, I opted for Conti Extreme Contact all seasons...not expecting to track the car. These are better at lower temps and should wear better as well. I will let you know how they feel. The prior tires on the car were Pirelli’s from 2002 and 2004! This came about as the summer tires were on back order...

MP4S on 18" HRE 547s on my 456M. Simply wonderful. MPSS on stock Carrera 18" wheels on my Cayman S. Equally wonderful and love to be tossed around.

Conti makes some great tires, but I would not put all seasons on a Ferrari.

The PS4S fronts are available, and can be matched with a MPSS rear, as per Michelin. I'm running this config and it's great.

    No.
    I love this.

Personally, I've had multiple R888 and R888r not need any weight added. Was blown away the first few times it happened.

Michelin summer tires tend to handle snow better than the other brands.

We don't get anything smaller than 19" PS4S in the UK.

I’ve always used Michelin tires but I tried the Continental Extreme Contact on my 550 and they’re terrific, seamanly all of the performance of the PSS but more comfortable.

Two cars I reviewed recently, AMG GTR and Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, had Conti ExtremeContacts. I couldn't compare them to other tyres, but they seemed excellent. Less prone to tramlining and skipping than P Zeros I am sure. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are even more comfortable than MPSS. For a 456, they could work nicely.
The most curious OEM tyre choice of my driving year so far was the Bentley Flying Spur with P Zeros, out of character.
