Button scored more points and delivered more for the team, despite it being Team Hamilton, as confirmed by Jackie Stewart ;)

Let the cars be as long as the designer wants, but limit wheelbase to 96"

Only (continuous) rain makes Monaco exciting.

Monaco is a lottery for me. I like the circuit, but it's not fit for purpose as a modern F1 track.
It should only accept F3, like Macao.

If the rules reduced the wheelbase, the cars would become necessarily shorter.
Long cars with short wheelbase would induce too much pitch, IMO.

You, I, and every designer knows this, that is why a length rule makes no sense, limiting the WB does both.

To be honest the perfect season won’t happen. I wish whoever is the WC would be at the last race like Villeneuve in 97. That was cool. Seems with the aerodynamics it’s hard to overtake. You and I could think of many ways to improve the show it would be hard. Maybe there is something to be learnt from Nasar where the cars are pretty simple and the show is often present

Which is more important for a team:
Win 1 championship in 3 years but score more points.
Win 2 championships in 3 years but score less points.

I loathe the 2 compound rule. If Alfa thinks it's beneficial to do the entire race on a single hard tyre, let them. The car is fueled for the race anyway so why stop at all?

Similarly if Ferrari prefer to do a 3x soft run...let them.

I loved the refueling races. It still wasn't easy to overtake then, but cars ran so close to each other. Perhaps not as rewarding as seeing a true pass happen, but right now we have DRS which makes the passes just as artificial. I'd rather see a bunch of cars race lap after lap within 5 tenths of each other and overtake in the pit than stay behind at a 2 second range, gather up electricity and have 1 or 2 goes at passing using DRS.

I like the idea of a tyre war, but also see the downside. A team could build a great car yet be troubled with a useless tyre. But I also don't reallyy see the point of a single tyre manufacturer in the sport making daft spec tyres.

Disagree. With a teammate like Bottas always on bad strategies and 1 year deals even Latifi would be wdc.

Too bad HAM is racking up all these wins and championships compared to SCH. SCH never had a car advantage like HAM, so not a fair comparison.

I know HAM doesn't make mistakes but anybody at LEC/VER/RIC level would win a lot of races in that car.

It really begs the question how good is HAM when you see how bad is BOT - and yet he wins pretty easily on some days. PER today in a year old Merc was almost as good.

    ?? odd question

    Button wasn't at McLaren in 2008 !

    More points = more money.
Teams don't care about which driver came 4th or 5th ?
    Button delivered more points.

    ?? odd answer

Hamilton scored more points than Button 2 years. Button scored more points one year.
Points contribute to constructors or championships. Points only contribute to 1 year. You can't use last years points for next year, or the year before. If Ferrari scored more points than Mercedes over 3 years, but only won 1 year, they will only get 1 trophy. They will not get 3 trophies. Which do you think is better for a team? 2 trophies or 1 trophy?

Given the performance Verstappen showed this weekend, I don't think he would be all that successful. He had the better car in the wet and couldn't capitalize on it. And while he is sometimes quick, it seems he has a lot of maturing to do still.

Neither Verstappen or Leclerc is near Hamilton mentally at this stage. Speed maybe. I feel both will get there and they will be a dominate force in the future

Max can be Verstappen's worst enemy at times. He can be very fast, but he isn't the complete article yet.

agreed. Hamilton is an amazing driver but it seems to be more like 99% car these days. The merc is always the fastest on saturday and by far the fastest on race day. I don't know why the FIA isn't trying to hard to stop the merc advantage like they did to ferrari years ago
