didn’t have the time to skim through 1.1k posts on this thread but what if the car is literally a 4 door Lusso? similar profile but front windshield and engine pushed forward a tiny bit married to a V8 turbo? high end version getting a downtuned SF90 power plant up front?

In an ideal world the Purosangue should be just a redesigned of the winner Lusso maintaining its original profile but having a new suspension mainly to improve some of the off-road capabilities. However, the Lusso has a limitation in order to become an SUV which is its interior space. On post 861 I posted a picture that compares the Lusso height and length with the Levante and the differences are evident.
My guess is that the Purosangue FUV in terms of size and interior volume will be a compromise between the Lusso and a medium size SUV like the Levante. This way the Purosangue will be appealing to the present Lusso owners and also to all the clientele that seeks an SUV with the performance and emblem of a Ferrari.

That's a 488, not a 458, but it does look like it is riding kind of high.

After the spy photos of last month of a Purosangue travestied of Levante and the Daniel Crossman render below, now it was the technical director of Ferrari Michael Leiters who spoke about this awaited model and, above all, the difficulties to make it.
To really see Ferrari's new SUV on the road we will have to wait until at least 2021, with the presentation likely to take place shortly before next summer. However, in the coming months as the car will take shape we will probably see more spy photos or videos of the Purosangue mule.

“The SF90 Stradale was a challenge, but the Purosangue SUV is another dimension of difficulty - his words to Top Gear - And this means that we need a very large number of tests in order to be able to meet SUV's customer needs. But I am very confident, personally I have made many SUVs and I think we understand what is needed for an SUV that is a real Ferrari. When the time comes we will show you that it is not a contradiction ”.

Hope they do it with hidden rear doors in a "suicide door" arrangement like that... like my SWB SuperCab Raptor. :D

Poor build quality is what made us sell our Escalade (2017). It’s huge, has no space inspite the size and il the last row since on your the rear axle any bumps makes you nauseous. I like much better the GLS and usage of space made by the mercedes guys.

Why not ? The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has them and the Land-Rover discovery vision concept presented in 2014 had them. Perhaps is the way of hiding the rear doors making the design more clean…:)

He does include the Cullinan and Bentayga as being in the same group. :)

And then he goes and buys the G-Wagen, one of the poster children for this expensive SUV boom... I think the functionality can be replicated by less expensive and flashy options.

At least he admits it. In the end he’s no different than anyone else. It turns out people like SUVs...

Jerry, spot on and you're right he is like most of us, a mortal, because he also likes SUVs and has one. I don't know what he thinks about the people that buy G-Wagens but he already makes futurology referring to the Purosangue potential buyers as people that have a lot of money and little taste…...:)

If you really want to tow, get a truck, not a G Wagon. Talk about justification for a rich tasteless choice?

Saw my first Bentayga in the wild last week when I was exercising the Cali. White Bentayga. I thought it looked really sharp. I have only seen one Cullinan in the metal. My grandma taught me "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything." So, I'll stop here! [emoji2]
