One of my happiest memories is of my wife's unimpressed face the time a charity she was working for made her wear a red teletubby outfit for an event. It just cracks me up recalling when, in full teletubby attire, she goes: "A professional in a teletubby outfit is still a professional." LOL! It's the gift that keeps on giving. Sometimes I'll just start chuckling and, even years later, she goes: "You're thinking about that damn teletubby outfit again, aren't you?!" Yep. LOL! All the best, Andrew.
Can a mod be banned? Many members get banned because they post irrelevant content. Are you going to ban yourself?
Folks get banned for prohibited content (e.g. P&R, commercial), not irrelevant content. Derailing multiple threads with their pet topic or repeatedly posting nonsense with the intent to pull threads off topic requires some kind of intervention when it's an established pattern, but the occasional lighthearted tangent isn't actionable and happens all the time in normal discourse. But if you feel an offense has been committed, do feel free to hit the report button on that post. I'll leave it for another mod to handle. All the best, Andrew.
Well, this post of maha, was just funny and was absolutely no P& R content. Mr Ylshih decided it was a "political" satire. This is outrageous and completely exaggerated. The thread is called : "LH is an idiot". We all know LH is very well organised in his head. It's a way of expressing our disagreement with his social and public behavior. So, from the start this thread is satire. One can therefore expect that funny, satirical content will be posted in this thread. I wonder where this censuring is bringing us. Banning somebody for a duration of 7 days for this post says more about the mod than about the OP. Many of us experience Mr. Ylshih as a very frustrated human being, with a small Ferrari heart, no humor, and very eager to take things way too seriously. If LH is an idiot, what can we say about a mod with the following motto under all of his posts: " Stupidity kills ... but not fast enough."?
Greta Thunberg is a political figure, so it was P&R satire. That sort of humor is fine on FChat in the P&R forum, but not in the F1 forum. You can absolutely have a conversation about Lewis Hamilton's social commentary in the P&R forum, but not in here. In the F1 forum, we'll just talk about racing and the sport - social commentary is not part of that, whether in debate or in satire. As for your other comments... we go out of our way to listen politely to constructive criticism. However, your tone is not polite and your points are not constructive. Please don't get personal or we'll respond to the personal attack as a moderation issue. Interventions for those offences are currently quite severe in the F1 forum, so I'd advise you take a different approach. All the best, Andrew.
Who says Greta is a political figure? You seem to confuse perception with facts. As fas as I know, Thunberg doesn't have a political title. Mr. Andrew, I am disappointed in your reaction.
She is an advocate for a specific cause in the political arena. From a moderation perspective, I regard the matter as closed. If you would like to carry on this conversation, please feel free to send me a private message. All the best, Dr. Andrew.
Bas, I just got finished saying we're not talking about political figures in the F1 forum. Knock it off. Thanks, Andrew.
Here is the location for any P&R discussion concerning F1. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f1-p-r-discussion-thread.631213/ yes you have to be silver subscribed or above but it’s pennies to pay for all access. Have at it. Robb
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8966063/Lewis-Hamilton-loses-three-year-legal-battle-ban-luxury-watchmakers-Hamilton-brand.html
One would think one would have done the research before "slapping" the watch maker with litigation papers. At least the lawyers on both sides got their money. "Yeah,.....sure Lewis, we DEFINITELY have a case hear!!! I'll get the paperwork started."
I doubt if Lewis was personally involved in this, but maybe he is. I suspect that the management of his 44IP company initiated the procedure to license his name; that's what they are paid for. It's becoming very common these days, and there are plenty of unprotected brand names. In this case, no harm done, but a smaller company than the watchmakers wouldn't have been able to fight back.
Indeed, he let a legal action take place without being aware of it.. Do you ever believe what you’re saying?
Hopefully a knighthood for Lewis soon... Will get the DailyFail reader types really gnashing their teeth "I Remember when such honors used mean something, blarh, blarh!"
Personally I have very little taste for the Honours List, but I accept that Lewis Hamilton deserves a knighthood more than many recipients. Apart from his sporting success, he is an inspiration for millions of young Brits from ethnic minorities and a real credit to his country.
