I'm guessing from a 348. My last patient today brought it in for me to see. She found it in a thrift store. I'm not sure if there are counterfeits out there like purses, etc., but a thrift store??

What value does it have, alone, with no bag in this condition?

Yes its a real, its just one part of the actual 348/355 set though.
    Value is hard to say.
Whatever someone is willing to pay but without the full set not so much unless you find someone who needs this one piece.

Looking at those pictures I would say it is almost certainly genuine.

I'd offer her 5 bucks for it! :D

I would say its authentic. looking at the stitching, with the contrasting thread. looks like schedoni.

I'd cover those in leatherique rejuvenating oil... for a good 2-3 days, then clean with pristine clean they will be soft and have a great luster.

What do you think this thing is realistically worth as it is by itself ?

Im thinking of buying it and actually using it.

well, its hard to say. a Whole set - $2-3K the two cased together $500? I'd offer $200 ... but if she got them at a thrift store - offer her $50 over what she paid.... its only value is to those who "know". I'm assuming they will fit well in the 308 trunk. from what I know Schedoni Leather - while very nice, gets pretty brittle over time, and the backing is usually thick cardboard vs. wood..... good luck.

Free Cleaning?.... that is amazing. I was looking at a set of 328 luggage - in Germany - $9000!!!!! still in the protective plastic and outer canvass bags... crazy!
599 luggage ( which when ordered was personalized ) is about $5-8K.... totally stupid if you ask me!

I would say the actual value is about $200 for the set... if they were 348 bags -they would be made to sit low in the front trunk. usually not much room in them.

Good for her. Nice to see rare finds like this from time to time.

$2-300 in my opinion is a great deal for you and a wonderful markup for her. If she wants to squeeze every last dollar then she should look elsewhere.
