    That doesn't suck! [emoji39][emoji39][emoji39]
Wife and I had squid ink pasta in the courtyard of a little restaurant off of St Marks Square in Venice. Definitely, one of the best meals of my life when you take into account the exquisite location, food and company.

Shrimp scampi from a few nights ago. My secret? Do NOT skimp on garlic. When you think you've added enough, add some more. Half a dozen big cloves and then added garlic powder as well.

Grilled mahi mahi. Marinated in soy, lime juice, S&P and white miso. The plain one on the bottom is, as you've come to expect, for the pooch.

Tonight is wagyu burgers. Got the wagyu at Costco. Invented a new condiment - dried shiitake mushrooms, pickled ginger, Wasabi, soy sauce, two roasted jalapeños, and white miso paste. Pop that in a blender. If you've ever made Beef Wellington, it's the consistency of the duxelles used in that. Jalapeño were juveniles - picked them before it gets cold over next few nights - so not overly spicy.

Our sober up spot was a pizza place called Dids. https://www.yelp.ca/biz/dids-pizza-vancouver it was located near the location of the "high" class street hookers. It was wild at 3am when it closes. You'd eat your slice with hookers standing beside you waiting for customers.

Fatburger in Los Feliz - "El Guapo!" was my greeting from staff. Great jukebox, too!

Post-party, proper Carne Asada Tacos or a Burrito & I was Superman.

Post-bar hopping/pre-sleep routine was Waffle House. Ordered the hash browns all the way.
Always some interesting characters - probably including us - @ Waffle House in FL when the bars & strip joints closed @ 2 AM (or was it 4 AM?!?)...T

Our bars last call is 2am. The pizza place closes at 3am. It was one of the few things still open, besides Denny's and hot dog street vendors. It was a real show most weekends, it was before the internet.

My iPhone is not syncing with my laptop. Its not the phone, the port for the picture card from my digital camera doesn't work either. Time for a new laptop.

Let my tale of pity and woe be a cautionary tale to the foodies in F land. Do NOT wait until the last second to pick up your standing rib roast.

Kroger had a sale this week. Went today and this is the best they had. 3 lb, 1 bone standing rib roast! [emoji30][emoji30][emoji30]

Standing? Dang thing is barely sitting!
At best, it's an oversized bone-in ribeye. ☹️

Looks like the one I almost bought at the co op store. It was too small for just me. It was on sale that week.

Power failure while I was at the park with Bella. Oven turned off. So no turkey tonight. I just noticed and after the park I'm starving. Chilly and damp here, good soup and sandwich day.

Decided to get a beef taco pizza. Only have tomato soup left. Don't feel like that kind.

Kinda like Tickle Me Elmo back in the day?!? My sister had my wife and I drive all over Memphis looking for that dumb doll! Lol. Good luck with Playstation.

Going to try and overwintering our pepper plants, so need to prune them. Have a profusion of peppers to use.

Short rib is one of those sleeper cuts of beef. If done right, lip smacking unctuous goodness...T
