Do they show any diff in PN on number 29?

My research shows #29 is same B or S, some unknown diff in the main door frame stamping.

    Thanks,
    Doug

Yes, there’s a difference in the outer covering which I think is the the door skin.
Remember this parts catalog is for the QV, not sure about the earlier model.

At a guess, the difference is the requirement for the window frame on the 'B' version.

Also remember, the internals are different between USA and Euro versions - there's the side impact beam in the USA doors that is not present in the Euro doors.

May have to do with the reveal molding fitment diffs?

I show PN 60214103 as a LH door skin for a '78 GTB/GTS. Some other parts are noted as Vale per GTS or Non vale per GTS, but not the door skin.

I would find it hard to imagine Ferrari would have any significant diffs in the outer skin between the two on a low production car.

Example: You would think the windshield would be the same between the B and the S but they actually have different P/N

I don't recall seeing the beam in my car doors when i did the window regulator refurb. My car came with metric speedo, and some other oddities, but it wasn't a grey market car. It was sold new thru Newport Imports in February, 1979.

I still wonder if it wasn't re-destinationed due to US demand., and some Euro stuff was simply left on the car.

You can download a copy of the US '78-'79 B/S SPC 161/78 from Carl Rose's website:

    https://ferrari.cdyn.com

It indicates that the door skins (29) are the same for B and S.

Yea, people are always talking about these "beams" I've had both of my cards off and never saw any beam ('83 US GTS QV)

Good points, I've seen inside my Euro QV GTS doors, obviously no side impact beams, but can't say personally about the US spec other than it was a USA DOT requirement to have side impact beams in the doors - starting in early 1970s at the latest, when the US 5 mph bumper regulations were introduced perhaps.

Check out the TAVs on Maranello Classic Parts UK www.ferrariparts.co.uk for example,
    Here's the link to TAV 107 Doors for a 308 QV USA ;
Here's the link to TAV 107 Doors for a Euro 308 QV.

No differences visible in the drawings, but definitely different part numbers (Item # 13 on the diagrams) for the door frames between the two specifications.

Almost positive my Swiss '85 has a beam, horizontal, just about the midway point inside the door cavity.

The skins are not the entire door.
    Those are repair panels.

They are different (as posted above) as the S has no upper solid window frame.
That's the difference, the support brackets for the B style window rail.

You can use an S door, in a pinch, but you will have to move the brackets over, and weld them in place, from the discarded B door.

    This is a true story!
