Yes, Berger in Imola. The commentators mentioned it briefly. I watched that live and was certain he died. Yet he didn't.

Thankfully he wasn’t unconscious or had more broken bones not able to get out of the car by himself

I've NEVER seen a current F1 car break in half like today.

Thanks, now I finally understand this. Since the rear half had the tanks, didn't understand why there was fire in the front. So the car did brake apart, but not in half as it would seem from the pics of the rear. The rear section with the tanks was pulled out.

I found this regarding the fire protection worn:

"...It is so resistant to heat and fire that drivers in a Nomex-3 overall can easily survive at least 35 seconds in temperatures of 850°C, which is roughly equivalent to the heat in a house fire. This material also protects the driver against caustic gases and acids."

The French TV host started to cry because he received a message from Bianchi’s mother telling him that she was happy to see that Jules' death had imposed the halo that saved Grosjean today.

Something happened just before I think.

Spare a thought for his wife Marion and his boys in Geneva having to see this...

Thank God for the Halo, I never seen a crash that bad. Grosjean showed great reaction/strength to get out in that moment. I don't have a clue why he would drive across the track like that so aggressively.

I feel that Romain saved himself. There was no way for the safety team to approach. As someone said before luckily he wasn’t unconscious. God bless
