Galpin announced a rebody of the '05-'06 Ford GT then what happened?

Seems to be heavily based on the Ford Shelby GR-1 from 2005 which was designed by George Saridakis and J Mays. Not sure but it sure has some similarities, particularly in the rear.

Some one is trying to get air time......
Ford has to move to electric or wait to be bought out by VW in the coming year or they are out of business....
Those computer mock ups really dont even look that good.
The GR 1 which was a cool concept back in the day....if you ever sat in it, like I did was so tight and small, it could never passanysort of crash testing.
Rebody a 2005/2006? Time to move on leave the Picasso alone and SOMEONE at Ford have an ORIGINAL thought. Dont think so though.....
Volkswagon at least will let them build an F 150.......the rest like the 2005/2006 will be history.

Forza, The point was Rehashing a 15 year old car is notthe future or potential sale to a core of petrol heads........
We are the last and should get to enjoy it but......FORD today and GM today vowed to back ALL and ANY REGULATIONS for the green new deal pertaining to the automobile.
I tested the Jaguar I PACE for customer feedback, WONDERFUL carish, but its in the model t stage.
In 2 years it will be a model a.......5 years a v8 Ford.
Gasoline will be widely taboo within 7 to 10 years.
Thats the way it is.......Deisel and others will remain but the rest will be fadedout.

Well considering this thread is about something Galpin, an independent dealership, thought about doing out of their own custom shop literally 7+ years ago that didn't actually happen, I'd say "quality and totally relevant discussion!" They bought a few cars with the intent to modify but sold several when values rose.

 

I agree , its an old story , Its time has past.........
Like my Aston and Mclaren dealer says , new today is just the flavor of the week in 3 months.
