Well I finally decided to buy a classic car, this is a car that should appreciate instead of depreciate like every other car I've owned :)

It's a beautiful '67 Maserati Sebring Series 2, it had a major nut & bolt restoration commissioned by the owner I bought from & carried out a few years back by Mario Lombardi in Melbourne. Matching numbers & history, car was delivered new by Alec Mildren in Sydney in '67 & one of only 22 RHD made by the factory & the last of only 7 cars that came to Australia.

I'm expecting it to be delivered from Adelaide before Xmas... very excited about it :)

Wonderful history that car, so rare a Aussie sold new period Maserati .

So special the 12 plug 6 cylinder engine and its long competition history is it a carby or MFI car?

    Well done .

I've never been scared of Lucas products in all the Pommie cars I've had .

If I ever do a long trip , I carry points, plugs ,dizzy cap, coil and resistor .Only once an issue a failed coil.

Looking at the photos online ,massive body work has been done , looks a winner.

great looking engine equal to the Aston Martin 6 and the Jaguar 6 except you have the site of 12 plugs.

I did a month or more of due diligence & negotiation before buying, I'm seriously considering electronic ignition.

Yes i would , more spark ,easier cold start ,less maintence

123 ignition are quality products if they have a unit to suit .

Peter if your doing long trips with wire wheels .
1.As well as a spare take a spare tube.
2.Take the wheels of it check the inner rims for rust flakes (they will puncture a tube)
3.Buy quality tubes i.e Michelin ones or rally spec ones (thicker walls)
This is from years of experience and punctures along the way .

Thanks Rob I'll remember that, I'm not sure I'll do long trips, maybe an OHOS GG depending on how close to Sydney.

I'm probably going to put the EZ electric power steering on it, some I've spoken to say it really improves the enjoyment of the drive in any type of City build up areas. The steering is heavy when you're used to power steering on modern cars, fine in straight line & gentle curves, but seriously loads up when turning sharp corners & trying to park.

I've driven an E-type with EZ P/S, I'd say yes to that ,it was much nicer then my car around the city speeds .

You'll enjoy your driver and will soon work out what to do to it to improve the drive , I've just done 1,275 miles over 5 days .enjoyed every mile.in my old thing..

Having driven Klinks 330Gt ,I recon that Sebring similar period will be a delight .They don't need a lot to improve 'em fresh springs if it needs it ,good shockers ,tyres .

i think the Sebring runs the same front brake calipers as a Series 1 4.2 E-type?

Once I've owned it a little while I'll know more about it, not sure about the callipers, its good at least that it has rotors all round.
