    Idaho makes for great hunting because they have "hills" instead of "mountains." You can easily shoot across a canyon. It still takes a four wheeler to get em out though.

    yes, we pulled them out on horseback, but almost everyone else was motorized.

    My old man hunted with locals he knew through the Navy. They would hunt the entire month of October. The locals knew where the clear cuts had been made and thus where the elk would come down to party. As they got older, hunt camp turned into more and more an excuse to fiddle diddle around. But, trust me, the locals had full freezers.
