I take that exact route too. That was Deano’s last stop with his wrench prior to dying at the intersection just west of there. Good spot to stretch the car out and travel around 130 but be careful. BTW I got off with a fix-it front plate ticket which I took care of yesterday. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw him, slammed the brakes and still passed him doing 90. The officer was great about it and gave me a pass, I have not had a ticket in a long time.
Great to see these «every day life» pictures coming. I got a real surprice here today 23rd of December!). A Christmas red 550 Pininfarina Barchetta was parked at a turning point and I had to stop and have a look at it! The car looked like brand new. We did also shoot a few pictures at the pier, my friend and yacht captain with his California. During 1/2 houre in Monaco I saw the 550 PB, a F8 Tributo, a 360 + a bunch of Rollses and a Russian registered Huracan Performante. Despite Covid-time, the trees are green, boats still white and the sky blue like nothing is wrong. I prefer to live rather than sit at home!!! Merry Christmas. That is my understanding for CA - anything above 80 they can impound the car. Not sure how often this plays out in practice as there are plenty of folks doing 80+ mph. Ruben
And when we get back, we go to jail. I lived in Germany 1979 ad 1980. I was a kid but I remember everything, including the Autobahn. I am planning to do the Big 5. I was going to go 2021 but COVID got in the way, so now I am waiting to see when. But one thing is certain. I will go to Germany.
I hear they rent out straight piped 599 GTOs for 200 dollar a day and free milage in Frankfurt now due to Covid... One green, one white and one red.
I am onto something. Will come over with some of my friends and enjoy the beauty and experience of Germany, Liechenstein, Italy, Austria and Switzerland (Swiss Alps of course). Maybe I could meet some of you over there when it happens.
That is a good idea! The main thing where doing a trip like that is to have enough time. Not go to a lot of places, but instead go to a few places and relax. Why not just buy a car and keep in Europe? I know of a big garage in Nice south of France that is availible for 100 euro a month. It takes 40 minutes to drive to Italy from Nice and then you come to Genoa after driving along the beautiful highway along the coast. It is a good location because it is never snow and salt and you can access all of southern Europe in a day. And there are flights going to Nice from all around the world! Short distance to south of Switzerland, Route Napoléon in France and even Spain is just a few houres. If you have a real classic car, you can take it out 365 days a year with this climate. So If you wish to have a vacation car, Nice is a great epicenter. Plenty of good cars to buy in Europe. Either a fcar or why not an old big Benz..? 450 SEL 6,9 road trip machine for climbing steep mountains with your friends. Or a big classic American car would be cool too. I know two US classic car specialists in the area. Best of luck!! Erik
