    Dear Jerry,

I am certain others may have an exact answer for you but here is what I know. In April 1964 I stopped at the Greenwich location enroute to the Lime Rock races. While there, Luigi Chinetti gave me a set of spark plugs for the race. In May 1967 I bought some spares from Gui Menoni, Luigi Chinetti's parts man, at the Manhattan location. So clearly the move was over a span of time.

I would expect that the move was for more space as the Manhattan location was far from ideal.

    Best regards,

    Robert

Thank you Robert. The reason for my question is because I am trying to determine which Manhattan dealer in 1977 was the original dealer of my 1977 308 GTB?My car was manufactured in June, 1977 (S/N 21833) and most probably sold in the Fall 1977. I have owned the car since 1980...over 40 years.

Was my car originally sold by Chinetti or by Wide World of Cars? Who was the "high volume" Ferrari dealer in Manhattan in 1977? It has a dealer installed Blaupunkt Berlin radio which may help to solve the riddle.

I'm not sure what year they opened, but I believe the NYC dealer at the time was Steven Kessler Motorcars on East 34th St. For certain, they were the official dealer in the 80s into the 90s.

Thanks guys. According to the information that I have, Chinetti and Wide World of Cars were the only dealers in Manhattan in 1977. My 308 GTB came from one of these two dealers and I am trying to determine which one. Apparently Chinetti was "sales only" but I find that hard to believe. Why would anyone purchase a Ferrari from a dealer who could not service it? My car has a Blaupunkt Berlin radio in it most probably installed by a Ferrari dealer. Comments are appreciated.
