Anyone have issues with service department? Had my 2011 California taken in for service in August. They replaced head gasket and AC compressor and completed 2-year annual service. During test drive it caught on fire. Totaled. 5 months later
and still unable to get reimbursed for loss of use of car.

That's awful - so sorry to hear.

 

Good lord! What does your attorney say? Anyway, sorry but I have no recent experience with them. I had a bad one in 2002 and never went back.

 

Never dealt with them. Why did they replace the head gasket? 20 years later and 67k miles and my 360 has the same head gasket it left the factory with. What did they not connect a fuel line properly to nick a fuel line?

So the car was paid for but not the loss of use claim. Is that right? How soon was the car paid for after the fire? What did/does your insurer say?

 

Claim was settled 5 months after the fire. Insurer said they cannot insure loss of use. Will need to file an action in small claims court for damages.

 

My problem with their service department is Stanley. I have no plans to return if I have to deal with him !!!

 

I had to start taking mine to Atlanta. Always had something new break at FCI.

I’m sorry for your loss and inconvenience, it sucks!

Speaking from first hand knowledge (in Texas), when insurance is involved you’d only be able to claim loss of use if the car was repaired. Since it was a total loss, then you’d get one payment, one and done.

Just to confirm, you’ve gotten the initial payout?

If you want an alternative to the dealership that is not warranty we have been working on Ferraris for about 20 years and usually have 5-10 here being serviced at all times. And I believe our bill rate is a little lower! Come by, call or visit our website. Are only advertisement is sponsorship here so our success has been recommendations from existing customers.

I live in Greensboro and have used FCI for my previous Porsches. Just bought a 328, so not planning to use them. Anyone have experience with Sport Auto in Summerfield? It's Steve Barney's shop (the guy that originally started Foreign Cars many years ago). Thanks.

 

Sport Auto would be perfect for your 328 but...the tech/guru himself is trying to retire so you may or may not get in. I’d call sooner than later.

Just closing the loop. Visited Tom Jones (ferrarioldman) and Sport Auto earlier this week and had a great experience. He took care of a couple of small items I had found in the first few weeks of ownership. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

Peter and his team do great work. They just finished a major service on my 86 328GTS. I could not be more pleased with their work.

 

I will second this! I have taken two cars to Automotive International and had great results both times. I would definitely recommend them.
