IDGAF I'm in the process of replacing all of the wired tuby thingies and clamps, what a pain .... when does my hoist get here
I thought the Challenge has separate holes (where the fog lights are in the standard car?) that channel air to the brakes. The standard car doesn’t. The grille doesn’t do anything except look good.
That poor car. This was the last time it had a caring (squinting) driver. [emoji16] Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you SHORE?????? The fog lights fed an oil cooler that was part of the 1998 kit update. Please check and post photos of the back of the grille that does nothing asap. I'm curious now.
I'm not shore, that's just what I thought. I understood that there is a duct on each side of the Challenge cars that feeds air to the brakes. Exactly where it comes from I don't know. The standard cars don't have those ducts. I can't look at my car at the moment - it's still at the dealer. Giz!
Ah, fair enough. What are you getting done? Mine will be back end of next week. Can't wait. Finally getting the aircon fixed, and with the wheel re-furb and the F1 indicator fixed it'll be better than ever!
You're both bloody useless! The fog lights were removed and blanked off with the '96 kit. With the '98 update, an transmission oil cooler (i think transmission) was placed at the front behind one of the fog lights, so a mesh was put there instead of a blanking plate. My recollection is that at each end of the plate behind the grille was an opening that vented the brakes. OR I could be thinking of a completely different car!
You may be right. It sounds like the standard cars have one brake duct on each side that must come from the grille area, and the Challenge cars have two brake ducts each side plus the oil cooler duct on the left hand side where the fog light used to be. The right side is blanked off. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f355-challenge-front-and-rear-brake-cooling-ducts.545234/#post-145215794
He's removing the aforementioned front grille, and removing the newly installed Challenge rear grille; those will stay the same - everything between them is getting changed...
