Spare me the you don’t need more horsepower it won’t run as good as stock etc...

Just wondering if anyone has done the power upgrade. They are claiming about 100 more hp and 100 more torque. You might be able to keep up with or outrun the 720.

Ive tuned many cars in the past and all of been for the better but I am not sure Id pay the premium for Novitec when there are others where you will get as good or better results and service.

Generally on Turbo car they turn up the boost and the good tuners will compliment with the appropriate modifications/balance to the trans and shifting. It all works fine unless you turn it up too high and that's when things get squirrelly. If you are going to do a bunch of mod's i.e. exhaust and down pipes it make sense to do go ahead and tune. I was planning on doing everything but the tune initially but decided to sell my car. If I keep it, I may do all the mod's. I would like it to breath fire.

I have installed the Novitec piggyback, car pulls WAY harder. No problems so far. Getting ready to install catless downpipes and will call it done.

I know DME does a good job and also Mase. There are a few out there. Let me check with my techs

Me too. I was thinking about doing the Stage 2 upgrade. I think I am going to wait. It is tempting though. I think I am doing too much too soon. So, if I do it, it will be in phases.

So tempting but I have resisted. This like other mods and options is a personal and financial choice.

For me to be honest on this forum I do not feel like voiding my power train warranty with Ferrari USA by messing with the ECU and doin down pipes etc. I also do not feel like spending the thousands of dollars to do this mod when I know in a year or 2 I will be into another car. Hopefully a F8 or Pista.

Only mod I have done with my 488 is HRS wheels and Novitec springs. I can transfer those right to a F8 or Pista with minimal cost. Plus they do not affect the warranty too much and I can afford to replace a shock or suspension part if needed.

I spoke to my tech and he mentioned M Tuned and Mase. He actually said to stay away from DME as they have had some issues with their tunes.

Mase shows one for the 488 for $2500 about 100hp increase. Nothing shown for the F8 yet.

Very reasonable price, ship them your ECU they tune and send back the same day. They give you instructions on how to remove and replace the ECU.

I’m with you. Pista has plenty of power for me, while I think the springs are a must, I’m cool with no tune. I might tune my M8 cause it’s a lowly Bimmer. But ferrari and Macca- I’m cool to let it be.

I have heard about Mase. Not looking to tune, at least not for a long while. But will keep in mind.

The advantage using the Novi box is that it is totally reversible. If you get an ECU tune you are on your own.
