Best First Ferrari

Hi Everyone,

I've wanted a Ferrari since I was about 10 years old. What's the best first Ferrari for under $100 000? The lower maintenance expense, the better. Thanks!

Definitely the most modern Ferrari you can get for that money.

But be careful if you make a stretch purchase, it's not whether you can afford to buy a Ferrari, it's whether you can afford to maintain a Ferrari.

 

Maintenance is easy. Repairs are costly. Big difference between those terms. Ferraris break and ain't none of them cheap to fix.

 

Depends what you want and like.

308s/328s are cheap side to maintain but are old school, 360s are more modern, have drop massively recently in price but have there own maintenance points.

 

F430 or California

Don't buy a California.
One of the best selling F models of all time? Doesn't matter.
Lots of technical innovations? Doesn't matter!
70% of buyers are new to the brand? Enzo would turn in his grave!

It's not a real Ferrari, you won't be able to come back on F-chat & show your face,
handsomely suntanned though it may be, from driving the best starter Ferrari going.

Seriously though, you need to drive a few types and your gut will tell you which one is the right one for you.

not for 100 k, you can barely buy a 360 for 100k or a 355 for that matter.

i must be out of date on my f430 prices. I bought one 4-5 years ago 5k miles, red/tan for $116k. Figured they were below $100k by now.

 

The best are most reliable. I vote 328 and 550. Most modern reliable maybe 430. Just be warned buying these cars is the cheapest part. Repair costs can be eye watering. Spending the cost of a whole new honda to get your Ferrari running is not a surprise.

OP...perhaps the best advice from above is to make sure to take into consideration a realistic maintenance and operation budget in addition to purchase price. The last thing you want to be is driving your F-car - whichever one you choose - and worrying about some $$$ repair/maintenance...T

 

A 575M is a REAL Ferrari with 12 cylinders and front engine.
You can find a good one for $100K, I think.

 

328 if you want something older or 360 manual for something more modern.

 

Really? gee, I didn't know they went up in price, I have been offered over a dozen F430's in the $80k range 1-2 years ago.

 

Yes, but Im just going by what I see here, for instance, a 430 manual asking price, 245k , challenge stradale 250k , talk about greed lol , i, you can almost buy a 488, or 812 (used ) for the money 430 and 360 s are going for , you might as well get a much newer F car for a little more than the aforement, ioned . 100 K will get you a clean 328 / 348 which as been maintained both cosmetically and mechanically .

That can be an old 3xx car or a newer 488.

wow, a lot of Cali hate! If you have small kids along with the wife and want a convertible, what other modern Ferrari does the job?

Enzo would not turn over in his grave, he would consider us ALL poesuers, he only would have cared about Leclerc and Sainz.

 

you would be surprised, there was a dip a few years ago, but since easy money has once again filled the markets, alternative assets have once again been lifted.

F430 6 Speed? Forget about it.

Yea, I understand manual box cars are around $200k but I still see lots of F430's on the internet in the $80k - $90k range

U can get a 355 manual spider for around 70k a
A f1 360 for around 80, a manual 360 for 100 and f1 430 for 100

Good morning, I just checked around here, and yes F1 430s and 360s around 100k. Manuals are way more expensive, I have also seen 328s going for over 100k , and 355s over 100k as well.
