Well, at this point Vettel had nothing to loose. He wouldn´t be able to secure a top seat after a sabbatical, his reputation is not strong enough. At worst he can end his career in a decent car (probably better than the Ferrari, at least while they can race a Mercedes clone) and put more money in the bank.

Really doubt his legacy will be the same compared with the other 4 times world champion..
This past decade has really been one of usurpers in terms of drivers titles.

Yes but do you have Stroll Sr permission. Not all who desire to enter are allowed to enter the Hall of Lance. Are you balding? Vettel was granted a waiver due to 4x WDC titles :)

I think Vettel and Aston have seen their mutual benefit.

For Aston, that remains to be seen...

I don´t want to start the war again (specially about Hamilton´s merits) but yes: only two cars won in this decade, and the drivers in those cars won, end of the story.

Geez, time flies: it has been a really sad DECADE for F1. It won´t survive another one like this.

You are correct, with the exception of Nico Rosberg, it is a sad state of affairs. I have following F1 since Gilles's time, and to say I don't give a damn any more knowing that Hamilton and MBZ are most likely going to win. I am sure there are many more like me that feel that way, I did enjoy 2010 and 2012 when at least FA gave RB a run for their money, but since then it has become monotonous. Hoping the upcoming decade will have more competition.

They probably took him for the prestige of having a 4-time WDC onboard.

As for Vettel, being in the "last chance saloon" he couldn't turn down the offer, I guess.

Yep unless he has a string of good seasons at AM he has tarnished his legacy, which is sad bc the man won a race for toro rosso/minardi!
