Not unusual, when it is dry they come out to the verge. In the early 80's a mate and I must have dodged 1000 or more between Walgett and Lightning Ridge going out to do some maintenance on one of our mines.

 

There stupid animals , they will look at you then spring , I'd never trust a kangaroo, bad news if you have a farm with dogs.

True ,we were lucky both family farms had rivers/creeks on the properties one the Yarra River the other a creek in twenty odd years we only came across a couple of kangaroos ,where as a friend outside of Seymour comes across them all the time on his land.
