I can assure you Tom Hartley knew what he was selling, he knew 2591 GT was and is the only 250 California in right hand drive configuration and has the documentation including period photographs (which I have seen) to validate this.
2311 SA is a 400 Superamerica clothed in the style of a closed headlight California.
There is a replica that exists that carries 2591 GT but this car is left hand drive.
Can you therefore explain your post?

    No build sheets needed.
Here is the one and only RHD 250 GT SWB Spider California built, #2591 GT, being raced at the Trofeo Pacor in Italy on 17 March 1962. Look where the steering wheel is and at the wiper position. At the time the car was registered on Italian license plates of Milan "MI 581457". I have the old Italian registration dox which confirm everything.

Looks horrible (I guess that is a overly strong word) in red, and yes the spot lights don't look like the original ones as a little large.

The Ferrari web site was today updated and amended with the information that all 250 GT California Spyders were Left Hand Drive, with the exception of one car.

For those that did not know, RHD 250 GT SWB California Spyder #2591GT is Classiche Certified.

Snip of screen shot from the updated 250 California section of the Ferrari Web Site. Scroll to the Explore the chassis section:

This car was for sale in A&B Cars show room at Newton Le Willows, Warrington. Lancashire in the mid 1960's in a metallic maroon not that bright red. right hand drive Scaglietti 250 Spider. I remember it belonged to de Ferranti who had a large collection of Bugattis & other exotics a few miles from here. I thought I saw that after 1965, more like 66/67. Maybe before Ferranti acquired it. Martyn Johnson who owned the 250gt breadvan may have something to do with.
I remember there was another Spider without the faired in headlights in white which I assumed was theirs or their cousin Paul Pycroft who lived on Anglesey. I know a guy who worked on the Gullwing in Bangor where the Ferranti works was, he might remember when the 300SL was exchanged for the 250.
I think it was for sale at £1750

2591 GT was for sale July 1966 by legendary dealer Dan Margulies, with an ad in "Motorsport" mag. Prior to Margulies it had been with three owners in Italy.
Margulies sold it to Dennis Ziani De Ferranti, who traded in a 300 SL Gullwing. 2591 GT stayed with the De Ferranti family from July 1966 until 28 October 2013 when Tom Hartley Jr. acquired it.

May this have been 0147E which was also sold by Dan Margulies in the '60s?
