But give Kellerman credit, he owned that and said that Brady's career AFTER he said that was HOF worthy
As soon as I heard that KC was without their two starting tackles, I figured they were toast. I'm not at all surprised with how the game played out. So now, all four major U.S. team sports trophies reside in two places: Los Angeles (baseball & basketball) and Tampa Bay (football & hockey). I've heard the latter is now being called "Champa Bay"!
I did not know that KC offensive line was without both starting tackles: this explains the only 9 points scored by KC, but what about the 31 points scored by the Bucs? KC should have had a good defecnce! I didn't see the game, I will see it this evening, but it looks it's not a great game to see. ciao
As much as I like the Dodgers, I'm not convinced this season was legitimate. Part of baseball is the year long grind. The NHL had a complete season and a very involved playoff / championship that didn't cut corners. Give the NFL credit in that aside from the pre-season, they played a complete season pretty much like any other -- and started really at the peak of the pandemic.
Yeah, yeah, but you're always right Swami! [emoji2] You're the GOAT of F-chat Football Prognostication! Gotta admit, perhaps more surprising than the KC loss was just how inept they looked on O. TB12 will get the ink, big props to Tampa Bay D. T
A little bit of both, maybe a tad more of the latter. Tampa D was stout. TB12 got them out to an early lead. KC didn't look like the defending champs; at times, they were rattled...T
The game was over when TB scored with one minute left in the first half. Tom Brady was in the heads of the KC defense and they couldn't get him out.
Tampa Bay D won that Superbowl. The offense did what they had to do but nothing spectacular (ie win a shootout). They scored when they had to, the D gave them short fields and a lot of opportunities by ending KC drives. Tampa Bay was ready, poised, hungry, and focused. Their defense punched KC in the mouth. KC was unprepared and likely believing what the press was saying about them, that they could turn it on and light it up anytime they wanted. Tampa proved that was false. And I loved every second of it. Especially when the referees flagged them (unlike last year).
Tom Brady, Las Vegas sportsbooks win another Super Bowl https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/betting/tom-brady-las-vegas-sportsbooks-win-another-super-bowl-2275746/ Tom Brady has got nothing on Las Vegas sportsbooks when it comes to winning Super Bowls. Brady won his seventh Super Bowl on Sunday in Tampa Bay’s stunning 31-9 upset of Kansas City, which closed as a 3-point favorite. The books won their 29th Super Bowl in the 31 years since the Nevada Gaming Control Board started tracking the NFL title game in 1991. Westgate, William Hill, Circa, Station Casinos, South Point and the Golden Nugget each reported solid wins on Super Bowl LV. “It was a great day. Tampa plus the under was huge for us, and the props turned out very good,” Golden Nugget sportsbook director Tony Miller said. “The Kansas City money that came late made our day.” Bettors lost on the Chiefs against the spread and won on the Buccaneers on the money line. The money line is a simple wager on which team will win the game. Tampa Bay closed at +140, meaning a $100 wager on the Bucs paid $140. The books won big on the total, which is the combined points by both teams. It closed at 55½ and stayed way under. “Keeping it under was really the key to the day,” Sunset Station sportsbook director Chuck Esposito said. “We had money on Kansas City on the point spread and Tampa on the money line. But everything seemed to be tied to the over.” The books also reported an increased handle, or amount wagered, on the game over last year despite the coronavirus pandemic restricting capacity in casinos. “We did see an uptick on handle,” Esposito said. “It looks like there’s a good chance the industrywide handle could be up.” A flurry of six-figure wagers were placed at Las Vegas books on Sunday, including a $2.5 million money-line bet on the Chiefs (-165) at BetMGM and a $1.16 million money-line wager on the Chiefs (-155) at William Hill. BetMGM also took a $2.3 million bet to win $2 million on the Bucs +3½ (-115) on Jan. 28. But BetMGM didn’t take any wagers during the game. The BetMGM app and system at MGM Resorts’ retail books in Nevada reportedly went down before kickoff and stayed that way until after the game as bettors waited to cash their tickets. Asked for comment, MGM Resorts sent the Review-Journal the following statement that BetMGM issued on Twitter: “We’re aware of the current issues in NV across the BetMGM app and within our retail sportsbooks. Our teams are actively working on fixing these issues and we appreciate the patience of our NV customers as we work to restore full functionality.”
Hmm. Interesting. I'm not willing to concede that just yet. Jordan was spotless in championships, as I recall. 6-0? I think Montana also needs some consideration for GOAT QB because he has a perfect record in SBs, 4-0, vs. TB12's 7-3...T
Like Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth! KC got punched in the mouth early, and were never in it. Surprising for a defending champ...T
