Received my notice in the mail. Indicated the parts are not available and will not become available for 90 days. Guess it’s not a major issue.
I think my annual service lines up with when the parts will be available so I can kill two birds with one stone.
I received my recall notice from Ferrari, (Incorrect Bonding of the Rear Window) it states that the replacement parts are not yet available, but expected to become available within 90 days. They also say that it will take about 2-3 hours to remove and replace, still need to contact the dealer to get in an appointment! I was supposed to go in on the Dec 15th for a rear hatch adjustment (They didn't have any info on the recall in early December, but had to cancel). My rear hatch is binding during opening. Hopefully they will get them both done at the same time!
FWIW, " time allowed" by the factory is roughly half the actual time it will take to perform... :wink IMO, I once kits are available, I'd allow a 2 day turn around... in day 1 out day 2 kinda thing. S
My dealer said not all 812s are in the recall. He checked my VIN and said it was not included. I have a 2019 with a late 2018 build date. Anyone else hear the same?
Not correct. In the US all 812 are being recalled with production dates up to 15 June 2020: See official notice: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2020/RCLRPT-20V614-8886.PDF Same story for rest of the world as far as I know Mine is scheduled but dealer says no parts until the Spring.
My dealer told me that it is not all US 812 SF cars. Just some of them. I think we are saying the same thing. The notice you posted specifically lists a VIN range. My dads 812 SF is a 2019, and his number is not on the list. I'd like to figure out what the truth is because he might need to have it fixed. Does anyone else have any more information on this? Thanks.
Not correct. 5'000 units are affected (all 812 Superfasts). PM me your VIN number and I can check. Marcel Massini
The VIN range is certainly wrong, doesn't match up with the date range at all. If I remember correctly, my VIN is not in that range and my car that was produced May 2020 is part of the recall.
I am in the US and in December I received a recall notice in the mail. Just an assumption if you didn’t receive one your 812 is likely not recalled. Mine is a 2018. Dealer has not received parts from Ferrari to perform the recall. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thanks Marcel. I can check with my dad and PM it to you. I will also call another US dealer and see what they say. This very important so I appreciate your help. Thanks very much.
I got the recall letter this past fall for my late 2018 delivered 2019 MY SF and am waiting for parts as well. Whats interesting is if I go on the MYFerrari app it shows the recall was already done.
Forget all those apps and smart phone gimmicks. Completely useless. Because of liability/legal issues the U.S. market 812 SF's are being advanced and will be served first (recall). Once the U.S. 812's are done (rear windows replaced) the German market will be served next, because (in certain areas) there is no speed limit in Germany and people generally drive faster/higher speeds on the highway which increases the risk of the rear window falling out. After USA and Germany, the other markets will follow. Due to Covid and supply chain issues there is a massive delay with production of rear windows. Marcel Massini
In the recall notice, they said problem was solved on assembly line after car ass#178370. I think this ass# is in the late 257xxx SN range. That leaves a good batch of 812 produced after this ass# that shouldn't be part of the recall.
