Hello, Just took the plunge on my first Ferrari. FF in Mirabeau Bleu with interior. 27K Miles, bought from Joe Macari. JM Were superb, Andrew from sales and Clive from servicing are a credit to the company. Having owned lots of fast cars before (Porsche, Maserati, AMG) I was pleasantly surprised at the first class end to end service. So glad I have moved to a company with racing blood with my pride and joy rather than a smiling number cruncher. Talking to Sextons about a stereo upgrade (Audison/Focal) given that the stock hi-power system is, well, not very powerful. Only issue I have had is with an electrical warning if I don't drive it for a few days. I Need to set the trickle charger up. Will be looking at a set of aftermarket wheels at some point but not in any rush. PZeros have been swapped for Michelin Alpines so give me some traction during the British winter. Could not be happier with the car, every drive feels so very special! Looking forward to being part of the community, learnt a great deal already Carl
Nice that you got the Macari car. There was speculation on PH that it had been sold. It seems that there is an increasing appreciation for the FF as it has aged well and I know of people who couldn’t get on with the looks when it first came out but rather like it now. If you’re going to get aftermarket wheels, make sure they meet the minimum load rating for the FF - it’s a heavy car and wheels specced for the F12 or 458/488 won’t meet the load requirements.
Yes, suspect you are right. I'll give it a while to see if it's a blip although I had understood that the trickle was a necessity rather than a luxury.
I've always loved the FF. I looked at Lusso's as well, personally prefer the rear of them to the FF but the front of the FF wins everytime
Congrats Carl, well done on the purchase. I test drove this a week before you but couldn't agree on a price. In hindsight I should have just offered what they were asking! Enjoy it! Where abouts in the country do you live?
Sure thing. The showroom pics will have to suffice at the mo, car washes are closed during lockdown and I've put plenty of smiles on her already Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Aha !. So you were the guy I have to tell you when Andrew told me you were first in line for a decision I was praying that you would look elsewhere. Blue is in very short supply and this shade is my perfect colour (the passenger display although some might say gimmicky was also on my list). I'm either in central London or around the Surrey borders. Hopefully you will get your car in the near future, good luck
Indeed I was. I'm a cash buyer, no finance or trade in and the asking price was just ever so slightly out of reach... another month or two and it would have been in my garage instead, timing hey? You're absolutely right, the colour is a beauty, I'm only in it for a blue example, TDF most likely but if another shad of blue comes up, i don't think I can afford to be too picky. I will be interested to know about your HiFi upgrade as and when you do it, I have already reserved myself to having to do this, as well as a Novitec exhaust!
Here are the details of the audio upgrade that I hade done - The work was completed by Sextons in Wandsworth, London (Run by Jason and Jay). The level of knowledge they have, customer service provided and eye for detail was nothing short of excellent in every case. Sextons provide specialist audio services to a number of luxury car suppliers so I was very comfortable seeing the prestige of car that they regularly work on. My requirements were OEM Look (Very conscious of my lovely interior), Android Auto, Tidal, A Loud system, Custom subwoofer box, Retain steering wheel controls and 96Khz playback capability (I'm a Hi-Res audio freak). Sextons provided me with choices of 3 levels of install, fully broken down and the kit list I opted for is attached. I think we upgraded the front tweeters post install to legends. Needless to say, my install is a complex one, there are much simpler options. The work took about 7 days and the car was returned to me spotless with a completely stock look (happy man ). Sextons used the a mic array (7 mics) to tune the system to the interior of the car. I Auditioned the result, made some live personalised changes with the guys and drove away, very happy. Considerations - Boot space.....(I can remove the box but frankly doubt I will ever need to) - the rear seats still fold as per normal. If I wanted to completely keep my space I could of opted for a single 8' sub replacing the OEM unit in a custom fibre box. However, I wanted a large, low and wide bass sound so large custom box it was. I am well accustomed to years of ICE upgrades and very, very happy with the bass performance at hand. Weight.......The magnets in the subwoofers I choice are HUGE (2 x 8'). So if you are a purist or track your FF (which I never do) then don't go down this route lol. For my use of the car, this setup is perfect. Cost.......For an active system with independent EQ etc. the costs of drivers mount up very quickly but again, this is personal choice. The install has completely modernised my FF media experience and works flawlessly and wirelessly with my Sony phone. The volume is more than enough for my needs and is perfect for long drives. The amps and all hidden and there is still room for expansion in the future (My FF had the upgraded system of 14 speakers of which I deleted the upper rear highs and dashboard mids for now). Best of all, yes I know it's an enzo derived V12......there's a large, illuminated mute button Hope this helps Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
