That's a cool one. I had a black 97 H1 2 door pick up with the extended cab about a dozen years ago. Huge tires, 12 speakers (including subs) MB Quart, twin KCs. Truck looked like your style. Absolutely loved the truck. Sold it because I needed a more practical Hwy truck.
just finished mine!! love it! took it to local cars and coffee.. got more attention than my Stradale ever did! LOL. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can imagine, mostly because the H1 is so much more approachable than a Ferrari. And so many can actually relate to one e.g. "I drove one of these through the desert sands outside of Cairo" (which I did ). Yours looks like the version of dreams.
I just dove one for the first time this weekend. It was a lot of fun The exact opposite of my 308! Matt Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Almost 5 years since my first post that started this thread....Finally bought this one, should be getting it next week 2000 Open top, 42k miles. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice! Tell us more. Why the aftermarket wheels? What else has been changed? Do you have a keyed ignition? I’m jealous! Matt
I've not looked at the prices of H1's in the past couple of years, but it seems they have been massively appreciating in value over that period. Is that correct?
No real change...but truly the latest Cummings diesel Duramax Alpha series is the one to have..none are under $150,000 ..
Matt.....The wheels are what is on the truck now (Fuel Wheels), It is supposed to be shipped to me early next week, so I don't have it yet. I was told it was owned by the guy who owned the dealership and he put about $10k into the truck while he had it, wheels. stereo, bluetooth, etc there are some other electrical boxes under the dash that I saw on the pics, so I'm not sure yet what those might be. It is a civilian HUMMER, not a military conversion, so yes, it has keys (if that's what you meant) I'm not that far from you, if you want to check it out....or I get into Penguins games every month or so, when they start playing again! ...I'm originally from Greensburg.
I’m game! I’ll be curious how the stereo and Bluetooth, which I assume run on 12 volts, talk to the rest of the vehicle, which I assume runs on 24 volts. ‘And I remain jealous.... Matt
I had a Black open top and went to the Hummer homecoming in South Bend, IN back in 2000. Got to run their test facility, incredible machine!
That was a crazy parade. We were towards the back and got a pic on the highway of H1's as far as we could see. I ended up making off road trails in my backyard after the '00 Homecoming. Had trails on 100 acres of property with some difficult obstacles, when Hummer went to GM they would use my backyard for events. Cleaned up the carnage and resprayed it single stage PPG matte black. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This was mine. Super cool. Had it for a few years about 17-18 years ago. If I had the place I have now I would have kept it. At the time I got rid of it, I needed a more practical truck. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login still have mine... love it!! they are costly to maintain, if ya go by the book and do what is required! i see yours doesnt have the CTIS (central tire inflation system).. so one problem area ya dont have to maintain. I would HIGHLY recommend looking into Blue hummer/Mod mafia retro fit on locking spindle nuts.. they are a problem area and if you drive truck alot, they are know to shed a wheel and tire!! when driving.. 100 + lb projectile !!
Yes...Good advice, Mine is in the shop now correcting a few leaks/bugs that were discovered after delivery., correct, last owner added Fuel wheels and didn't connect the CTIS system.... I did discover that the original owner who had my H1 from original purchase to approx 2018, was a guy that I guess was well known in HUMMER circles, used it at several off road events, and took great care of the truck, from what I'm told. P.S. LOVE your slantback!
great looking truck and the best out there for fun.. here' Image Unavailable, Please Login s a shot of my alpha.
