Went to town last week and stopped in to visit the guys at the dealership. I have no delusions of grandeur and am not at all candidate for the VS (was told I could get a GTS but don’t want one). During our visit he said this is a factory (and at least stateside an FNA) driven campaign. Even “higher level/historical” dealerships have their hands tied.

I have been a bit grumpy on here lately, as Ferrari goes : less exclusive on special product allocations, higher pricing, heavier, larger. However I have been loaned a GTS in Blu Montreal (pictures do not do justice stunning) and its a great car. It is very big for the UK but IMHO keys the road better than the coupe, almost zero scuttle shake and good sound. Not 599GTO but decent for a modern car.

    Great pics, thanks for posting.
Can you expand on “not GTO” comment. Do you think 599 GTO is better in some way?

Just heard it will be a 800k usd before tax car. At this range seems both coupe and aperta are limited

Even assuming the coupe is limited to 800 that seems like a lot.

That seems higher than I thought - if that’s right then I’m guessing about £600k plus for basic- plus options plus vat... don’t think this is right, I’m expecting significantly less than this for the coupe .. anyways , even at that price it’s going to be snapped up .....

£600 plus options plus vat you end up
At £800k so almost usd 1.2mm that price doesn’t look right or realistic to me

Don't forget at what price they sold an 812 barchetta, sorry Monza ...

The F12 tdf was worth $1.2m when it came out so why wouldn’t they price the 812VS at $1.2m?

My SA responded that they will be told by the factory on the 18th which customers get them and there will only be 4-5 at my dealer. So doubtful that I will get one. Although I have bought 4 new Ferraris in 4 years including the 812 but that is all of my history so probably not good enough judging from many others here. Like Frank, they will be glad to fill a GTS order but not biting because I would be trading the coupe and a buttload of depreciation for a top down car that I don't like the buttresses on so no interest.

Maybe for the flippers the F12 tdF price was $1.2mil but the car was only $74k more than a base $411k F12 in 2016 for first owners. The 2016 tdF base price was $485,000 plus $3750 delivery.

Apparently zero 812SF (coupes) for USA have GPF, including MY2020...however I have heard later production Monzas do, seems the USA switch over to GPF for all V12 production was after factory summer 2020 holiday.

Further to the numbers the USA received 230 of the 799 F12 tdF cars built.

I think a price spike is to be expected for the early cars on the secondary market. Even the 812 had a premium for a very short while.

I think the $1.2m price represents the marginal price of that early car. |f Ferrari had tried to place all 799 of them at the same time, the clearing price would have been (much) lower.

I think the relevant price point for Ferrari now is where the F12tdf is today with relatively plentiful supply. Seems to be around 600-650k euros here in Europe. I would expect a decent spec 812VS to be priced around that range if the production number is the similar.
