Be honest, when was the las time you drove the F8 after getting the F8?! And what’s the comparison between the two?!
I took it for granted that this was meant as a joke but I am now confirming that was my intent of that post.
Going through a "black" colour phase so not really a problem for me . However I agree on your part - too much of a good thing if they are similar
Over the top and out of this world!!!!!! Drop dead gorgeous! (The thud you heard was my jaw hitting the floor) Congrats on your new toy. Drive it in good health. Regards, Gene Greer
LOL... I am going to get 3 small pipes on each side on my F8 to make it an F24.To make it 3X faster and better. It will be much more gooder
I saw one today at coffee and cars. Loved it but....it looked dated already. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’m at dinner. I’ll share my thoughts on the sf90 later. Lots of great cars today. Tampa here too... Sebring is like a home away from home for me. Hope to be back there soon for a Chin day. Hope to see the car around and say hello to you
Indeed, don't forget to mention the top, left side, right side and the undersurface. McLarens are not precisely works of art. It is a very acquired taste. However, I was referring to performance. Which is the only objective thing we can compare them. The rest is subjective.
I mentioned earlier that I liked the look of the SF90 but it looked dated. Maybe it was the fact that it was parked next to 2 La Ferraris and a Pagani. Maybe it was the fact that there were 3 Sennas just adjacent or that there were the Gemera and the Jesko just 50 feet away. I’ve seen the Sf90 in person at Pebble and I liked it but there are a lot of strange design aspects that just don’t make sense. It looks like a 488 on the profile, the headlights with the shark fin eyes are god awful, the tail lights are controversial, the engine sits way too low for some reason. Esthetically it’s not a eye sore by any means but it just didn’t scream exotic to me for some reason. Ferrari has always been conservative in their styling but I don’t know, I’m torn on the SF90. I did like it but I didn’t love it. Would I buy one? I don’t know- it’s getting very digital and maybe after being surrounded by so much tech, half of the crap doesn’t even work, I’m starting to relish the more analog feel of cars. The Pista, the 765, to me these cars are get up and go. The SF90 with its 15 driving modes, all electric mode- I guess I just need to get used to it. I’m sure it’s fasts as F- but maybe it’s not all about speed cause to me my Pista and 720 are fast enough.
The AV likely going in the right direction...V12 NA with H assist (assuming the old gearbox is replaced). All the sound, all the power. And good outrageous looks.
There you go, less than 500 words. Heck, probably less than 250. I agree with everything you said and I have not seen it in person yet. It is a sgn of the times. We are aging but not getting old. We like our speed, acceleration, performance, grip, braking and cornering but we also like mechanical gauges, connection with the road and car, like it is a mechanical extension of our body and not forget the visceral engine sounds. (Yes, we know... nothing sounds like the 9k screaming V8 of a 458).
The only two cars that really excite me and are on my search list are the F50 and AV SVJ Roadster (not the 63 though, too gaudy).
It looks like some sort of weird moustache or a large boat anchor! The biggest problem every time I see the car!! May the Horse be with you
The Sf90 is a big car and honestly to go back to the OPs post- the 765 might be one of the last of a breed. It’s really starting to hit me that cars are changing and it’s not for the better.
