Well I think the 355 added to saving Ferrari as well .... the 348 was a low point, even Luca said it was rubbish 3.4 litres gave you 300hp, 3.5 gave you 385hp
Actually, you and I know the 355 is easily the best car Ferrari ever made .............. and we're not biased at all !!!!!!!!! Drove the car to Pat's today, Gizzi fixed the aircon and it is so cold now that I have to turn it off ! He found some blanking plates were blocking the air coming out of the main face vents
Ask Gezim, he fixed it .... I just paid for it, but it is noticably colder (I did have it on the coldest setting) He said that there were blanking plates behind the main vents and I have to say, I never felt any air coming out of them before but now it's great and that's all that matters ... also he fixed the recirculating option which always makes a huge difference to any aircon
The condenser fan wasn’t coming on with the A/C system so the head pressures were going through the roof. Someone had messed with the wiring for it, so we sorted that and got it back to standard, only to find the HVAC module wasn’t switching it either. Checked all inputs from the control head unit in the cabin and determined the module itself was faulty. It also turned the heater on intermittently for no reason. We disassembled the heater tap actuator and manually turned the valve off then reassembled it and isolated it from the module. Then we wired the condenser fan to come on with the compressor. The HVAC module still triggeeed the compressor Anders still reacting to the binary pressure switch so we left it in circuit. The blend door motors are all cactus, including the recirc flap motor, but that’s extremely common on the 355. So we made a plate and fitted it to the box so it was in recirc all the time. I then removed the vent actuator and manually moved the blend door to the face mode but no air. I removed the centre vents and found a plastic plate had been welded over the vent. I cut it out and restored air flow to the centre vent. Then I swapped the A/C on (stop) switch with the recirc switch as the A/C switch would work and Moretti wouldn’t have been able to turn off the A/C. I did some other stuff too, but I’m getting RSI. what the hell????? All that stuff worked perfectly when I had it, apart from the recirc vent which crapped out. I wanted it left open though. But seriously.....a plate behind the vent?? How the HELL did that get there? Also, the condenser fan always came on with the compressor....so another WTF?????? WhoM modified the wiring?
Well you're closer to it than me He's on here, ask him, but there was never any air coming out of the main vents and his explanation re the blanking plates sounds right
It’s impossible for the centre vent to have worked, the way it was. A plastic plate was plastic welded over the exit vent of the evaporator box to the centre vent. The two side vents both worked once I manually moved the blend/diffuser flap. I’m not saying you did it, I’m just saying that’s how it was. It’s not uncommon for race cars to have the interior vents fixed to screen to stop fogging. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don’t know who modified the wiring, but I put a new compressor on Moretti’s car 4 years ago and it was working correctly back then. I remember it. Simone between them and now farked with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was but it's fine now Here's how I play it, if I can fix it I will but things like car wiring should be left to experts like Gezim plus he knows his way around A/C and apart from engine out I do the rest, they're just a dumb car
