    Well, car wise, my best effort was a BMW bought for re $100k and sold for $40k two and a half years later...

    Aircraft bought for $160k, sold for $70k.

    I bought a 72’ LJ Torana for $200 when I was 16..
    Drove it on my L’s for a week..
    Got pulled over by the cops for driving an unregistered vehicle..
    Cops removed the plates and told me to walk home..
    Sold the car to the wreckers for $50

    I bought my Mini Clubman GT with a 1310 motor for $50 from a guy at Castle Hill Maccas in the 80s...It lasted for years...Loved it!...
