    Spanners/wrenches - as pictured below.

With one very distinctive feature, the 15mm/14mm spanner is a different style from all the others - this is consistent across almost every 288GTO tool kit I have inspected.

These I believe are the factory correct spanners for a 288GTO.

Below are several different sets from different cars, I have highlighted the "odd one out" spanner.

This is a great start to telling if your 288GTO tool kit is the real deal!

Well, that took a bit longer than I thought!!

Hopefully that is a good start with the 288GTO tools, on reflection it is actually a very comprehensive tool set.

I will let everyone digest this, I look forward to any corrections, confirmations or additions - every day is a new day at school!

I will return with GTO luggage, manuals, media & sales publications.

Then we can move on to the F40, give me a few days I will be back, need a rest after that!

    cheers Mark

PS if anyone needs any help with a tool set for one of the halo cars, or is missing any individual tools please drop me a PM and I will do my best to help.

no, not as such. I have been around cars my whole life - father and grand father both engineers - grew up with race cars and rally cars everywhere around home, cars were my dads business and put food on the table. When I was a youngster I served my time/apprenticeship on the tools, normal cars at work, crazy cars at home. Then I moved on, in a different direction with life, but never could get the oil out of my veins, so have been around Ferraris ever since. I am now just enjoy life, my cars and working on all sorts of fantastic machines - all at my own pace and leisure.

Wow, thank you Mark for taking the time to share so much information with us. That is fascinating. The bad thing now is that I will have to dive into my cars to check where I really am with regard to tools and ancillaries !

Hello again, just to wrap a few 288GTO items up...

    the space saver spare wheel.

I have seen them with Gold labels, Silver labels and Red labels - not sure of the significance of the different colours used?

But all the labels have GTO on them if it is the correct space saver wheel for the car....

The stunning and very rare 288GTO luggage, so beautiful.

The luggage was an option and not standard, back in the eighties few people took up the option and as a result Schedoni made less than 100 pieces of luggage for the GTO run of 272 production cars. This makes it a very rare item to have with the car, it is now very coveted and collectable.

The GTO luggage only came as one piece, as pictured below.

Hi Edward, no sorry I don't.
But I recall seeing some for sale recently, I will try to remember where I saw it.
I have a new 575 superamerica toolkit, looks very similar to a 575 toolkit, but a few small differences make it unique to the superamerica.
