Hi Darran, welcome to FerrariChat! My car is down at the paint shop at the moment getting the rear buttress cracks addressed and a few stone chip etc, so its perfect and ready for the better weather. When its back next week, I have a set of uprated AP Racing brakes and uprated suspension to fit, then its getting an interim service - cant wait it will finally be finished and ready to enjoy! Given the amount of work I have done to it, its become a labour of love and a long term keeper, cant imagine not having it. Decided to give my F355 Berlinetta some TLC..... | FerrariChat ATTACH=full]3090915[/ATTACH] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's impossible to know what the negotiated price was behind close doors. I would assume the dealer knows manual GTB/S is in high demand and can't fathom them budging more than $10K from asking. When the car sold matters too. I think 4th quarter 2020 after the manual GTS on BAT went for $160k was the turning point. Not sure data points that came before matter. People will continue to ask high as long as supply remains limited. When I look at the market, I see clear euphoria for manuals across the board. Maybe the Spiders time will come, but current perceived supply in the market is high. Every other week there's a spider on BAT. Dealers will try to get their Spider inventories to ride the wave, but I don't see people falling for it. We're still in the 2nd inning of this bubble. Stock market is doing well. People have extra cash lying around have no sense of urgency to sell. I see a sense of urgency to buy. It's a seller's market. HOLD.
Exactly, bubble. In thew last 35 years I've seen it more than once. If your a buyer, HOLD. Fortunately for me I have the 355 I want and have no interest in the Berlinetta or GTS. In nice weather I take the car out almost every weekend for a 100+ mile drive. 90% of the of the enjoyment is being in the open air.
A bubble that might not pop for the next 3-5 years. Life is short. If you've got the cash... Personally, I think 355's have been underappreciated value wise for years. They are beautiful cars. Everything else new coming out has funny angry faces and a bit too max power for me, and that's saying alot as I do like my cars aggressive. They're never gonna build cars like this again. If one can find the ideal car for $90-$130k range, buy. Sellers don't want to sell a nice car below $90k. Buyers are gonna be holding for something that might never happen. If a good deal does come around, you'll need to be first amongst 20 prospective buyers with cash on hand to get it.
I actually agree with much of what you are saying. I have no interest in a street car with 500, 600 or 700 HP. The 300+ in my 355 and Cayman S is frankly more than I need. But when you talk about not building cars like they used to I revert to my 85 308 GTB QV. If I were interested in a 355 Berlinetta I'd probably opt for something like this which sold for $70k. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1995-355-gtb-black-over-tan.636709/
That was a great deal even for the mileage. That is why it sold in less than a week. He might have gotten $80k if he was willing to hold for a few months. Shoot I considered buying the car myself and the last thing I need is another 355 . Had to talk myself out of it lol. I'm glad it sold because I was gonna do something stupid and make my life more complicated than it already is. I don't know much about 308/328's but they are beautiful cars indeed. I love the classic interiors.
That was the last great deal on a very sorted, updated car. 2.7 B, well documented. Sold on here in 2018. Service is due but not negligent yet. Maybe another year or two, if your a stretcher ;-) miles are higher than most, but not ridiculous and I know of someone on here with nearly 150k miles that says he would not take less than $150k [emoji41] so supply and demand - HOLD. The Gated F355 WILL NEVER BE CHEAPER. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've spoken to the guys at Stradale and they know their stuff and are very nice, helpful people. Their asking prices are high and probably more forward looking but the cars are fully sorted and ready to enjoy. The Azzuro Dino car I can't remember what I was quoted but it will sell soon I'd imagine. If it's still there in a year for some reason maybe I'll buy it.
Whats a scam about it? I've never seen a dealer post anything other than an asking price. You have seen where they post the deal sheet?
Yep. Asked about the 1998 Argento GTS. Just got the reply. 107,500 euro ask. Sold for 90k. So 17,500 below ($21,200). About 17% off.
OMG. I just looked at the details of the Argento car. The interior is horrific. Worst I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen alot. I wouldn’t buy that car for 50% off . *90,000 Euro = $110k USD. Imagine the price if it wasn’t ugly. Image Unavailable, Please Login
LOL I must have had my muzzle on too long I like that look, maybe not on a F car. Had a car with white leather welll, not again LOL
I don't know. One minute you guys are talking about unique cars and unicorns, the next you say they are ugly if you don't like the details. I might change out the steering wheel to black and maybe the instrument pod, but I like it.
