It’s a big leap in the turbo evolution, this one has more of the GT DNA (I believe one of the GT engineers worked on this car) built into it rather than just a fast cruiser. Plus the biggest leap in HP from one generation to the next, all new interior, etc...

Years and years ago, I went to the Porsche dealer to ‘look’ at cars. They had a very slightly driven 993 next to a brand new 996 (both C2s). I chose the new one.

The 996, IMO, was a great car - a lot of fun and no problems. Except when I went to sell it. No one wanted the fried egg headlights and the persistent rumors of engine problems (IMS, AOS, RMS), of which I had none. And of course the 993s were smoking hot in the resale market.

Even with an incoming F8 Spider, I’d be a bit hesitant to sell your 997. The new Turbo cab is sublime looking, as evidenced by buddyg’s pics. Tough call....

Lol I was excited to finally see it arrive after a long wait. I wanted to share it with my friends in this forum. I will definitely do a comparison once I have it in my hands.

Until then just don’t click! :D

The 993 is a special car, last of the air cooled engines. 993 turbos sell for $100,000 more than what I paid brand new and will probably continue to appreciate.

All valid insight. It's worth about double the 106k I paid in July 1995, maybe more considering that my baby was never registered or titled to boot.- true---

Btw those pics were from a Rolling Stone Magazine event in conjunction with Porsche in Manhattan in Oct.,2019 where they displayed past decades of iconic Porsches and mine was selected by the Metro NY PCA to represent the 1990s' era.

Do not sell your 993. A mint example that you are the original order is a must keep and unique. There will never be another car with its driving dynamics. The Turbo S can be purchased 2 years from now at $50-75K less. In a few years there will be a replacement model. I sold my black 993 for a new 997 and have not stop regretting.

I bet if you comb that beard out, you'll find some replacement candy in there.

Back to programming: Congrats on scoring the new rig. Now, would you hurry up and pay for it so they can release it to you?

Congrats Buddy. If you're up for it I'll be at PBIR running the race car Wednesday. Come on out.
