You can go stand in line at Gillette. Or not. Depends on the day. NH isn't very much better. I don't have an appt until March 23 and I've got the age and a pre-existing condition.

Hey Eric, long time no see! Hopefully we'll have some events this year, like Tutto, where we can re-connect. Hope you and family are doing well.

We are hanging in there, Paul. Everybody has dodged the evil Covid. Really ready for a few events this year, even if we have to wear Hazmat suits! You and yours stay safe and we will catch up this year!!

Paul- Hope you have better luck before then. Chimpanzees should qualify by 2024.

Tennessee just started on 65 and older and teachers and child-care workers.

I received the vaccine at 11:15 yesterday morning, was fine all day (worked, practiced drums, worked out all normally). At about 8 o'clock, I started having chills, so I took a nice hot shower and felt better. Then, at about 10 my teeth were chattering, felt weak and achy, and my temp was over 100. Capped out at 101 at three AM with a killer headache, but I've been feeling much better since. Now I'm just achy and not well rested.

Wonder when we are out of this June? July? For return to work?

Yup, those are symptoms you do not enjoy while they are kicking your rear end, but proof everything is working well.

Jan has agreed to have a stockpile of homemade chicken noodle soup the day we get our second shots. May not help, but sure tastes good.

Hopefully back to normal by late summer, and not Christmas as mentioned.

Good to know. I doubt fully normal summer as not everyone that needs to have it will have it but certainly better.

From a work perspective this may never be the same... personally I enjoy no commute or office politics!

We stood in line for nearly 3 hours for first shot earlier this month. No issues, just sore shoulder.
Next shot in early March. They will start teachers next week here in San Jose.

My youngest and her husband have been remotely working and expect that it might continue for years. There s does not seem to be much of an impact to not being at work.
For me, I had to go see a person to talk to them rather than leave a message on the phone or email. I don't think I could get same results today.

I hear u I’m in San Jose right now and had enough of everything being closed... there is already not much going on there normally so in covid ...omg boring...
Been remote 12 months, don’t think I’m ever needed back in the office either:)

Jan and I are scheduled for next Friday, 5 March. Cannot wait since she has been unable to help with the grocery shopping since the great unpleasantness started. I hate going to the grocery store.

    I hate making beds.
Mattresses made these days are too heavy.
I prefer the mattresses we had in the barracks....lean, light and airy!!

Jan and I got our second Pfizer shot today. Should be invulnerable (right?) in two weeks or so.

2nd shot today, after being turned away twice last week (Houston has trouble sending out correct appointments).

They give out appointments in my part of Tennessee, but it is effectively first come first served on the day of the appointment in a drive through clinic in an old Sears auto shop. Line gets pretty long if you actually showed up at your appointment time.

Similar deal here I suspect. Appointments made, but we showed up about 30 mins early. Line wasn't too long, so they took me; was in & out in about 20 mins, including 15 minute wait. 1st shot today. Moderna.

I signed up in a smaller county to the north, where the wife and I drive our cars. As I suspected, it was a shorter wait vs. more populous counties near DFW, and I have to say, very, very well organized. Had a ton of nurses ready to jab people, the local community service volunteers pointed the way, helped with filling out forms/answering questions in English & Spanish. Very impressed; this is one of those rare days that I feel my tax dollars were well spent! :D

1st Pfizer shot at the local VA clinic late last week. Very efficient process, no waiting, in/out w/in 30 min (including 15 min hang around time post-shot). All ages of veterans there for vaccination... 30-somethings up to 70s.
