    Finishing same as you started is better than dropping back :) 6 laps is not many, especially if one makes a little mistake & then have to overtake again, motivation for the next race & a better starting position. How many laps for race 2? BTW good luck tomorrow :)

    you'd be surprised how much physical and mental energy you expend in 5 laps. Racing is far removed from club lap dash type events and open wheel cars are an order of magnitude more involving than any road car. I climb out of the car exhausted, in a good way. There's also a lot to do between events, refueling, draining catch tank, suspension & tyre adjustments, etc, etc

    Having said that, the Phillip Island meeting suffers from being too popular and they end up shortening races to make the schedule work. In Sydney our typical weekend meeting format is 2 x 6 laps and 1 x 12 lap race. At Phillip Island, our "long" race is 7 laps. To be fair, it's usually 3 days of racing here, this year is shortened because of CCP-flu.

    That's more like it, 10th to 7th with a 1:35. Andrew M spun in Southern loop and a couple of cars got by while I was braking and swerving to avoid him, including Dean in the F5000. Another great dice to get past him, this time around the outside in Southern Loop. Guido retired so I'll start the next race in 6th.
